re: RIP USS Indianapolis survivor Edgar Harrell - White Roach
The WWII Museum has WWII vets a couple of days a week. My ex-neighbor's father is 98 years old and a B-24 pilot. His speaking engagements were put on hold by COVID, but he's ready to go again. It's great to see younger people interested and showing respect to a man who earned it. ...

re: Uptown neighbors file class action lawsuit against Children's Hospital over helicopter - White Roach
Does anyone know if the current location of the helistop/helipad/heliport is an elevator ride away from the new ER? I don't, but I seem to remember this being a benefit of the new location. ...

Was the entire expansion project not permitted or just the new helipad? Seems crazy to me that they thought they didnt need a building permit. ...

re: Uptown neighbors file class action lawsuit against Children's Hospital over helicopter - White Roach
The new helipad location was part of a $300MM expansion project. I believe, but I'm not positive, that the ER was relocated, so the helipad was too. I know I remember reading that they would have to wheel patients a long way from the old helipad to the new treatment areas. I can't remember the time...

re: Sleep Apnea...Have anyone of you had this? - White Roach
I have a question
I didnt suffer any ill effects from using it for about a year and then stopping. The airline/hose developed a leak, rendering the machine inoperable. I didnt get it fixed for 6 or 8 months because I just didnt want to be bothered with it. I didnt die. I rec...

re: Sleep Apnea...Have anyone of you had this? - White Roach
I've snored since college (6"-5", 190 lbs). Didn't feel it was disturbing my sleep, but what the frick do I know. However, my snoring definitely disturbed the sleep of others trying to rest. About 35 years later (still 6"-5", but topped out at 337 lbs) I had a medical issue that required attentio...

I'm glad I didnt spot that after a long day of drinking. I can think of several LSU home games where I'd be ready for some gas pump lasagna. Fork optional!...

In the Sanctuary of Outcasts, by Neil White. Basically, about a guy who was sentenced to Federal prison for bank fraud and served time at Carville, when it was a Federal prison AND a colony for people with Hanson's Disease. His Very Best-Jimmy Carter, a Life. By Jonathan Alter. Interesting d...

re: 17 years ago today, we lost a patriot. - White Roach
I dont know if it was The Tillman Story I saw. I dont remember any allegations of murder, but it been a long time since I saw it. Tillman's father is a piece of work. He is/was some kind of attorney and was a force that wouldn't accept a BS answer....

re: 17 years ago today, we lost a patriot. - White Roach
You seem to be knowledgeable on the topic. Do you recall the name of the movie/documentary about his death, his family, and the aftermath? It ended with footage of the memorial Tillman run. It was just really sad because not only was Pat dead, but his family was very bitter about the circumstance...

re: LTI (reform school) Stories - White Roach
It's kind of strange ... St Paul's and St Stanislaus both had two reputations in the 70s. St Paul's considered a good school for kids from the Northsore and Hammond. But if you were from NOLA, it was where you were sent after you'd been kicked out of every decent Catholic school in the city. St St...
