Jim Himes needs to have his security clearance revoked, if I understand the purpose of a SCIF and a classified briefing.

Carnegie built over 2500 libraries. My hometown had one.

Carnegie was a true philanthropist. His goal was to give away the bulk of his wealth, which was substantial, before he died.

I’ve read that Rockefeller continued to supply Germany with tetraethyl lead for their fuel during WW2.

I fairly certain that John D. was dead before WWII started. And if he wasn't dead, he'd have been about 100 years old.

So he wants it to be dark at 5pm all year long? Awfu

It will get dark a few minutes after 7:00p in late June, but the sun will come up around 5:00a in Louisiana.

Whether DST or Standard Time, you understand that there's no more or less sun sunshine, don't you?

My grandmother always thought I looked like Magnum, P.I. because I was tall and wore a baseball cap (not the Tigers), shorts and the occasional Aloha shirt. The girls 50 years younger were not as enthralled.

I miss my Maw-Maw.

will be interesting when/if this eventually all this comes out.

Off duty sees the car, I'm assuming gives chase, then radios in. A minute later it is called off, but they ended up on St Bernard Ave to "turn around"

What's that, about 4-5 miles in traffic?

There are several unknowns...
The cop who was off duty (working detail?) Radioed in the call. An on Deputy spotted the car as it was entering I-10 East. He/ she called it in that they were entering Orleans Parish. Supposedly, the pursuit was called of less than a minute later.

A minute after starting the pursuit? A minute after entering Orlean Parish? How fast were they going?

Presumably, the pursuit was called off east of the West End/Canal Blvd exits and the JP fell back. But the next exit is St Bernard (I think), we're they came upon the accident scene.

It can't be more than 5 or 6 miles from Causeway to St Bernard Ave. It's probably 3 or 4 from the Parish line to St Bernard Ave.

Daughters employer. Not much money at all. Like $2000 but they are going back almost 12 years ?

Seems petty to me.

2000÷12÷12= less than $14/mo. I can't imagine recovering the $2000 will be worth the time and expense.

Buddy gave me the blues that night.

One time I saw Wolfman Washington play at Rock 'N Bowl. He was WAY more fricked than usual. He kept on breaking his guitar strings and had to put on reading glasses to replace them.

It might have been the most entertaining Wolfman show of my life!
I'm not buying it.

Were they frying in the kitchen?

Jane is older than your average boomer. She was over 30 when you weren't supposed to trust anyone over 30. Her whole life of commie activism is just to endear herself to the younger members of a generation she barely fits into.

She's fricking 87. I'd like to say she's senile, but she seems fairly coherent in the interview. That said, she'll still always be a "Commie Bitch" to me.

My father was a pretty easy going guy, who made efforts not to use foul language in front of his herd of children. Except in the case of Jane Fonda. If he heard her name on TV or conversation, the first words out of his mouth were, "that commie bitch".
Jesus, I remember Mini-Thins. Taken at about quintuple the recommended dosage, they worked like a charm.

It's been about 15 years... Maybe I initially heard about it after the 2nd flat, which would have been $600 a piece. But whatever it was, it was ridiculous. And he was stuck.

most BMWs don’t, the extra weight savings supposedly makes them handle better (German engineering autism) so they have run-flats

My younger brother had a BMW. Nice car, but unfortunately he was a manager at a recycling facility where there was all kind of shite waiting to puncture your tire. He had run flats, and no spare. A new tire was ~$1200.

He had three flats in the parking lot.

there a worse group of TSA workers than the ones at MSY?

Yes. The chimpanzees that call themselves baggage handlers.

I swear to God, my flight arrived late on night and there was little to no activity at baggage claim. It took ~45 minutes for our bags to start to appear.
Man ... Van Horn has got to be in the top five of West Texas Wasteland areas. There is a whole lot of nothing in that area of the country, including water.

I made a week-long backpacking trip to Big Bend in early Spring of a wet winter. The desert was blooming and beautiful, if you got up close. But short of being a rattlesnake wrangler, there's nothing out there for me long term.

Right side of the face is perfectly bruise aligned with his protruding disgusting cheek. How does one's face saggingly stick out like that?

I'd venture to guess that he's on some type of blood thinner, which can lead to some pretty spectacular bruising with any type of injury. And the bruising isn't limited to the point of impact, but can expand as the days go on and the blood migrates.

That may be why his whole cheek is bruised.

NOLA would be a sporty place.

Before Pablo Escobar met his untimely demise, he had estates all over Colombia (probably the world). At one home he had a private zoo, which included a few hippos in the local river.

Twenty years or so after his death, the hippo population had exploded to the point where it was unsafe for locals to travel the river.

Hippos are apparently very territorial.
That's her.
I've only had about a 5 or 10 minutes experience with her, but she came in pre-op and answered every question and addressed all concerns. She took her time with my 91 year old uncle and left everyone feeling more relaxed about the procedure. A+ bedside manner.
