I have an acquaintance who I'm told has one lung ... she hasn't been out of her home except to pick up groceries or so I'm told.

Her kids were FINALLY allowed to visit with friends (teenage kids) IF they promised to stay distanced and keep a mask on. The mom of the kids they were visiting told this to me .. she was so glad to have them over so that HER kids could visit she did as the mother asked.

I could not imagine not getting out at all.

I think the only explanation is following politics like a religion

There’s no way both of them are completely mentally ill

Other then the mask wearing, crowds at public places have been back to normal for a while now where I live. When cases were increasing they were blaming this. But now cases are going down yet they’re still blaming it.

I go everywhere I need to, but this past month I used 2 gallons of gas in my F150. I also drive a Highlander, but that really surprised me about how little I drove my truck. I work from home, so I typically only drive during the week to run to stores or get food.

Oh definitely. They are both stereotypical progressives.

At this point it’s a virtue signaling contest. Just who “cares about others” the most.

She recently posted a picture of them on a hike with a caption talking about how they great it was to be miles away from any other person and of course in the picture they are both wearing masks.

even if only half of those people are being truthful, that’s a level of mental psychosis/narcissism that will never be cured. I know people scoff at the “covid will never go away” comments, but this is what I think of when I hear that. the virus will go away, the damage to some people’s psyche might be here forever

My wife has only left home twice since last march.

I'm not sure she's really scared of the virus or just realized it's an excuse to hang around the house all day.

Up until about the middle of July. My wife and I were pretty shut in. The only times we left the house were for the grocery store.

At that point, we couldn't take it anymore and we've basically been back to normal ever since then. We do everything now that we did prior to Covid. I still work from home, but that's not because I'm scared of Covid, but rather working from home is the shite. Eventually I will likely have to go back in full-time, but until then I will continue to enjoy saving gas money and not sitting in traffic.

I have some pretty severe health issues so we have done very little this past year.
Work from home, grocery pickup, take out food, and seeing immediate family only and a lot of outdoor distanced things.

There's going to be a big mental health crisis this summer with these people when they see 95% of the country out and enjoying life.

They're just following the recommendations of our esteemed First Lady Doctor Jill Biden, who said you should even wear your mask outside while walking your dog.

She's a doctor after all. She knows what she's talking about.

If you have quarantined for a year straight over this you likely will never recover mentally. I can’t even fathom this insanity over this virus especially if you are young and healthy

I know a guy that is super paranoid like that. His wife had a child in May and they still refuse to let the grandparents get within 6 feet of it. When he goes grocery shopping, he only does pickup. He said he had to go to Lowes one time and wore gloves, mask, and a hoodie and left his clothes on the front porch when he returned home.

All of that seems perfectly logical to him. His mind is blown when he hears about some of the stuff I do. You know, crazy stuff, like go to the dentist.

shite, I went to my Doctor a few weeks ago for my annual check up and once he walked in the exam room he told me I could ditch the mask if I wanted, because, and I quote, "it's a pointless feel good gesture."

Actually due to Covid, I’ve become closer with my neighbors than ever before. We’ve had parties (indoors and out), dinners, walks, etc.
That basically was the only thing that was affected by Covid in my life.
