I know a couple of people like that. My experience is that they have also become even bigger Karens over time about people not following covid restrictions anymore (“this thing is NOT over!!!).

They are starting to realize that they’re the only ones who have truly wasted a year of their life, and they are bitter whenever they see people who “didn’t follow the rules” and don’t suffer any consequences. Every beach trip or birthday party picture they see on Facebook makes them more and more triggered, but they are pot committed at this point because they’ve been such a dick about it to all their friends.

My wife’s best friend is a brainwashed libtard. She hasn’t left her house since last March. I can only imagine how fat she’s become.

Oh they're out in force, even here in Columbia. Was waiting in line to get a Cuban sandwich at the Soda City Market downtown on Saturday. Keep in mind a good chunk of the USC students were walking around without masks. There were two girls in line behind me. After a few I hear an older lady go "you girls should be wearing a mask." One of the girls turns around and tells the lady "and you should mind your own fricking business lady."

I about choked on my drink

I’d almost feel a modicum of sympathy if they weren’t busy trying to be totalitarians with my life

I think this is a large part of it. It’s why so many of them are pumping the idea that you can still spread it after getting the vaccine. They have to hold on to the fear porn

My parents mid 70s have stayed at home mostly besides doing a retirement job of cleaning a church... Dad has had health problems in the past. I can understand that, what puzzles me is the amount of young healthy people I know who are scared to death still.. They all are wimpy liberals though.. just the truth..

Yep. Some friends of my wife. They have been working from home and haven’t sent their kids back to daycare since March of last year. Our kids were playing with theirs at the neighborhood playground one afternoon a few years ago, and the dad said something about his chiropractor being able to fix his acid reflux with some sort of spinal maneuver. So that kinda tells you what kind of folks we are dealing with.

Hell, I take no issue with anyone who wants to shut themselves in their house for a year. That's their choice. The issue I have is when they want to use the government's jackboot to force me to shut myself in my house for a year.

BINGO

The next line I hear from the automatons is that I am responsible for their health. You don’t want me responsible for your health. I’m going to follow you around and smack the McDonalds and honey buns out your fricking mouth all day. Then I’m going to charge you for my work. Only YOU are responsible for your health.

I should add, and I don't mean this in a bad way, but the pandemic came at a perfect time for me. We were in the process of building our new house and were preparing to put our existing house up for sale, so the pandemic gave me a great reason to stay home and focus on packing and selling stuff I didn't want to move, etc.

It also has allowed us to focus on our new house, and get stuff done so that we can enjoy it this summer, so while I don't wish a pandemic on anyone, it has helped me somewhat in that regard.

My son in laws mother. She's a retired English professor and a frickin lunatic. I'm about as close to full blooded native American as you can get and she once asked me why I married a woman that went to Florida State and sent two daughters there

I don’t know anyone who’s been shut in for a year but I do talk to people daily who seem like they’ve been living under a rock. We get calls everyday from people wanting to roll out 20 or 30 deep to the restaurant but can’t understand why we can’t accommodate them. But why? What you mean we can’t sit together? But it’s my Aunties birthday.

This. And I'm going to chase your fat arse around the neighborhood for at least a couple miles on a nightly basis with a pitbull so you can dislodge some of that crisco out of your fat arse arteries.

One of my best friends has been locked in his house since last March.

He has had all of his food delivered to his door. Shops through Amazon. Wont even take walks or go outside because other people might not be wearing masks.

It’s lunacy to me. Bring it up even slightly and he gets super defensive. Accusatory and name calling. Sad.

I’ve been cautious, but the things suggested in the OP are insane to me

They jumped in with both feet and cant quit because A) they’ll look stupid B) will have to admit they’ve wasted a year (and counting) of their lives.
