It sounds like you need some liturgy and regular (if not weekly) communion in your life.
Find a more historic Protestant church that focuses on Christ more than anything else.

Doesn’t the Bible say that a church can be any place where more than one person has gathered? I think you could just have a conversation with your family about your faith once or twice a week and not need to feel any guilt. I’m not even religious but I respect those who are.

Everyday since my parents started dragging me when I was a kid.

Finally told them in high school I didn’t want to do confirmation because I didn't believe any of it and that was that.

Haven't been since.

I personally deal with world better and feel closer to God when I attend. The more I miss, the easier it is to miss again. Then I downward spiral until I feel I got to go for myself to operate better. The world is full of all kinds of crap - church helps me keep it in perspective.

I would take a hard look at your current church and the reasons you don't want to go. Church is not meant to be entertainment (as it has become), it is a celebration of a sacrifice. Being Catholic, i can tell you there are many Sundays I am tired and dread Mondays, so I hesitate on going to Mass. This is normal. But 1 hour in God's presence and receiving the body and blood of Christ, being in his presence, and disconnecting from the modern world resets me and truly prepares me for the week. It's 1 hour of 168 per week, its not a difficult commitment, and being centered is so much more important to me.

Finally, I have to disagree with some of the comments. Church is necessary. We can pick and choose the teachings of the bible, but if we fail to celebrate together as a community, we will fall apart. You can see it happening all over the country. As we drift from the Church, we are growing more secular. I used to be one of those that said things like "my religion/relationship with God is personal, I don't need to go to church." In reality, I wasn't praying at all, nor was I setting an example for my kids and family.

So yeah, Go to Church.

I love God and all of that but sometimes I just want to sleep in, go to a breakfast and just relax on a Sunday morning instead of having to do all of the things that you have to do to get ready to go watch a 1 hour rehearsed show.

The Sabbath day is not about being a slave to a man made routine in a church building. It’s been perverted and misunderstood and diluted into “go to church building against your will and make it through service.” But that’s not what it’s supposed to be. Go read Matthew Chapter 12 for a good start on this.

The sabbath day is about taking one day a week to separate yourself from work and stress and distractions and worldly nonsense and truly take a few moments to thank God for what you have, worship and praise him, and relax.
Exodus 20:8-11

If your church doesn’t instill feelings of happiness and joy and community and faith deep within you every time you’re there to worship in earnest then you need to first analyze yourself and make sure you are truly making an effort to connect to God and second analyze your church and see if it where you need to be. Matthew 6:5-15

I’m sure Christ wanted to just hang with some buddies and chillax but instead he loves you so much he was brutally tortured and murdered so that you could be saved. You too must put aside your worldly desires and follow him. Mark 8:31-38

You want to get the most out of church.
If you’re not feeling reconnected to God after each worship service, try a different church.

I used to be in church Sunday mornings and evenings, and Wednesday evenings. Toss in choir practice and teaching children’s church. I don’t go anymore. It was home to me and never thought I’d not go. But our old pastor retired and I didn’t care for the new one and its direction. Churches today seem to forget about tradition and scripture and focus on drawing in the “young” with modern music that will never replace hymns. Seems it’s God’s job to bring them in, churches have lost focus.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Sunday is a day of rest. Says nothing about church

As a Christian you are supposed to worship God every day not just Sunday. That can be done outside of church. Church is for fellowship, listening and understanding Gods Word, charity, mission work. It’s a great thing but not necessary to be a good Christian. A lot of shitty people go to church regularly but don’t follow its teachings outside of that building

We’re all human. Spiritual dryness can happen. Every part of a Catholic mass is strictly from the Bible.

I read all the Sunday readings during the week before Sunday mass in my Every Sacred Sunday journal. It allows me to really understand the message and to really understand the Bible.

I also take occasional notes during Father’s homily because he is amazing and shares his human experiences and struggles with us. He said if you can only give 40% one day because of depression/anxiety/exhaustion that’s your 100% and it’s ok.

You don't need the modern church to be spiritual.

Did you really pull the "I'm spiritual, but not religious" trope that every 19 year old pulls?

This is the problem. You’ve been conditioned to feel bad for missing.
