Do you ever wake up on Sundays and not want to go to Church?

I work non-fri - have to wake up at 5am then on Sundays have to wake up, get dressed up and go listen to a service where it has basically been the exact same thing for the past several years

Worship band for 3-4 songs
Connect / beg for money
Cute little video about how someone found god
30 minute preach from the pastor

I love God and all of that but sometimes I just want to sleep in, go to a breakfast and just relax on a Sunday morning instead of having to do all of the things that you have to do to get ready to go watch a 1 hour rehearsed show.

Am I wrong for sometimes not wanting to go to Church every single Sunday morning? I don’t think I’m going to go to hell because I want a Sunday Me time morning from time to time.

It’s just that I feel so friggin guilty if I miss church on a Sunday morning

Could you not just go to a later service on Sunday and reclaim your mornings? Are Saturday services an option?

I’m all about Christianity until it’s time to go to church. I’m simply never going to do that.

You don't need the modern church to be spiritual.

While I'm not a believer, in my younger days i was always told no one ever made it through the gates of heaven just by going to church. I think some people forget that.

I think living the life the Bible preaches and staying in tune with the word is more important than church.

Sounds like a baptist church to me.

Going to church doesn't make you more dedicated/connected to God versus not going to church. It can certainly be a nice group to belong to for a multitude of things based on that common connection, but it really has no bearing on your actual faith.

Literally every Sunday morning for the last couple of decades. Though, in fairness, I rarely even think about it at this point unless someone brings it up

Brunch, on the other hand. Now that's a weekly decision about whether I want to be lazy and stay home versus jump in the shower and put on pants

Every Sunday so I don't

Honestly Jesus doesn't want you to be an a-hole. If you are he wants you to repent. Not sure I need to devote 2 hours a week to that

Today. Even this minute. I like my church very much, but lately just do not want to get moving and go. Probably because, as you say, I am so busy otherwise I just want to sit still on Sunday morning.

Church is really about being part of a community of like minded people. You can be a devout Christian either way whether you need that or not.

Sort of like AA. I don’t need to go to meetings, chain smoke cigs, and funnel coffee to not be an alcoholic, but being part of that community helps some people on their journey. To each his own.

Church services of every stripe are painfully boring to me. I never set foot in one except for a funeral or wedding, and then it is not done cheerfully.

I stopped playing pretend at 10. I don’t indulge the fakery of a Sunday service. Church is clown shoes for smooth brains.
