I mean you can get a car and a trailer for pretty cheap.

That's what my younger daughter did when she was in school to be a dental hygienist. Bought her house and now rents the mobile home out for rental income.

Yeah I’d struggle to live on no income.

I do drive a truck, it was 23k.

And yes I had a roommate for several years living in New Orleans.

I’m just pointing out I lived in Louisiana making under 50k for several years. I make more now, but basically all I do diff is I don’t have a roommate.

Ya'll must not be in Texas. My property tax is about to be more than my house payment.

shite I was looking at some brand new all fiberglass ones, perfect for just one person. 41k. They obviously have smaller cheaper ones, but I like the shower in these.

Mortgage is WAY off.

The monthly mortgage payment for a $150k loan, including taxes and insurance, is around $1400/month in Texas and at current interest rates.

That's not a lot of house anywhere.

The problem is that you’re essentially saying that the minimum wage to live should be able to afford an average standard of living.

No, I'm saying that is the true minimum wage to live and you should ask for at least 50k or you're not going to be able to afford to live without being subsidized by someone else.

Where you gonna live baw? In your car?

That's not enough income to get approved for a mortgage that would equate to a $1400 month payment. That would be like a 220k house/condo or almost 5x their gross income. That person is going to have to rent in most areas or buy a trailer.

Reassessment just happened in my area and people are seeing their home value's go up by 50% in many cases. Nobody ever thinks about rising property tax and insurance rates.

The mortgage is not off unless you live in some shithole area where livable houses can be bought for less than 200k.

$456 Health Insurance
Absolutely retarded for a young healthy person. You're literally better off out of pocket. Even for catastrophic emergency over the long term. You think you'll get some chronic condition later in life, you can buy in then.

I’m laughing at the comments like all these folks are these fiscal gurus

Even if you cut a few things here and there, and somehow shaved it to $3000-$3100, a massive majority of people legit can’t afford that.

Apartments don’t cost that much less than the mortgage that was listed

Why do you have a 1.4k mortgage payment if you make less than 50k? Why do you have a $500 car note if you make less than 50k?
This.

Why would anyone want a $500+ car note?

Anyone making less than $50,000 per year cannot afford to live in America.

You left out taxes, and I think you underestimated fuel.
It's also not lost on me that you left out retirement savings contributions and Onlyfans fees.

This right here. My health insurance costs have skyrocketed along with my home and auto. Hell I’m probably close to $2,000 a month between the two not including property taxes

Have you ever taken a statistics class? Do you know what the term “average” means? If something is the measure of central tendency, where does it fall in relation to other numbers in a data set?
