Had success off George Jones covers. He doesn't have near the voice and never considered him a neo traditionalist country artist.

He is dominating because the competition in country music has never been so weak.

I have a theory about music in general, and that includes country. When people don’t really struggle in life, they have no inspiration to draw from to write interesting music anymore, and so music suffers. Uninteresting lives produces uninteresting music, and so when you have uninteresting music, you have to fluff it up to make it appealing. That’s not true across the board, but it sure seems to infect much of our music today in most every genre.

Once again, mainstream country has pretty much always been mostly bad. You are beating a dead horse. Everyone does this shite. They turn on the cma’s or the radio and bitch about country music sucking. You need to get off of Nashville controlled radio and listen to real country music like Jason Isbell, American Aquarium, Turnpike Troubadours, Ryan Bingham and Zach Bryan.

Real country music is alive and well if you know where to find it. I get tired of defending the genre to ignorant people who assume the only country music is what they hear on the radio and see on tv. That is not country music imo

Rap and country are two genres of “common man” music. Just for different types of common men. I remember thinking this while I was in high school how most modern country stars singing about bailing hay and shite likely never did that in their lives and were just singing about cliches. Same with rap. Most of the established artists are millionaires. They aren’t actually living out the life they’re singing about either.

See thats the dilemma. Guy appears to suck politically but is talented as frick and one of those situations where I find myself desperately trying to separate the artist from the art. I don't believe he is a real leftist, but he tries to say just enough to keep the mob at bay. Perhaps that makes him a pussy but he's got a good thing going professionally and prob doesn't want to frick it up.

Somewhere in between Travis Tritt and Ronnie Van Zant. So nothing that hasn't been seen before.

Don't know if you watched the show, but there was very little main stream country. It was all about a bunch of 19 year old female singers and black country singers that no one has ever heard of, with Gladys Knight thrown in the mix.

The whole show was about empowered this and courageous that.

If you haven’t heard Aaron Lewis’ latest, it’s a must listen. Especially sticking it to the lefties.
