We are in the era of "Bro Country". Can we get a few dozen more songs with a snap track, and lyrics talking about bonfires, shine, tailgates and tan legs?

No mention of Aaron Lewis?

Part of being a genuine country artist is being country. He grew up in Vermont and Massachussets.

This may have been mentioned in the thread already but has anyone heard of the country song “dicked down in Dallas” by Trey Lewis?

We were having a BBQ in the back yard the other day and had a country music Spotify station playing. Young kids were playing outside and all of a sudden, the song “dicked down in Dallas” comes on. Do yourself a favor and look up the lyrics. We laughed so damn hard but I was shocked at what “country” has become

we’ve had this exact same thread every year on this board for over a decade

Country music has been dead. And I personally look down on people that listen to new country

9/11 ruined Country music.

The pendulum has swung back in the other direction, but once politics (or mere economics) take over a genre, the rot is generally permanent.

that’s like a gangsta rapper coming from a college educated 2 parent household in the suburbs. It just doesn’t translate

I have to give credit to Aaron Lewis for trying but his reputation as a rock singer in the past overshadows anything he does in country music.

But he had to as mainstream rock has been dead for years.

sounds like everything Luke Bryan has put out for the last 5 years. And yet, radio stations continue to give him air time and people continue to listen to his music. I guess there is a market for it unfortunately.

So proud of my wife (no pics).

She hasn’t missed a country music awards show in the 16 years we’ve been together. Until last night. And she did it on purpose.

They started booking the bro country signers and attendance obviously dropped. They used the new field and covid as a reason to delay the inevitable

So someone's political leanings automatically discredits their talent? Aren't y'all the same people that tell athletes to "focus on your job, we don't care about your politics". I've never heard of Stapleton being vocal about his politics, so why can't you give him credit for his incredibly supreme talent?
