If PI lawyers weren't in bed with chiros to drive up some specials for people who have no legitimate injury, how many chiropractor offices would stay open?

I get instant relief from mine. Then I go about renewing my stretching routine to keep the pain at bay. They're good for that type treatment.

I can feel an immediate difference when I get my horse adjusted, but only with 1 of the few chiropractors I've tried. He's the only one I'll ever have do bodywork again. The rest I can tell no difference.

I'm not a chropractor and have never been treated by a chiropractor, but I find this charge hilarious: "[Chiropractic] practices have been linked to strokes, herniated discs, and even death."


Traditional medicine is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.

They're not medical doctors, I'm sure many of us know "that one dumbass from high school that grew up to be a chiropractor" that now calls himself/herself "doctor."

How much of the proliferation of the chiropractor industry has been supported by the medical insurance companies? I'm sure if all the health insurance providers quit covering it, most practices would dry up.

I know there's many people out there who swear by the positive results, but really chiropractors only offer a temporary solution, and rarely ever actually solve the core problem, they treat the symptoms. For some people, I guess temporary relief is good enough, especially when it's covered by your health insurance. The reason your bones are out of place is because the muscle tissue is pulling them in various directions. Sure, you can reset the alignment, but it'll just happen again and again. Fix the cause, not the symptom.

I've gone through it before, and I saw temporary pain relief for a problem that only a neurosurgeon ultimately fixed

...and I'm sure I'll get shite for this, as last time I went on a little anti-chiropractor rant on the OT, I got some IRL flack. There are a few chiro's that post here regularly

ill refer you to this clip of jim mcmahon gettin essentially a chiropractic, or neck, treatment. the mri doesnt lie. brain/neuro activity increases from a slight adjustment. it has more use than "back pain"
