I know there's many people out there who swear by the positive results, but really chiropractors only offer a temporary solution, and rarely ever actually solve the core problem, they treat the symptoms.
This is exactly the problem. They don't solve/cure anything. If in my practice I told a patient they just needed to come back and see me weekly/monthly for a tune up they'd tell me to go frick myself and find a different doctor.

1) I agree with you about chiropractors.
2) It is about that time for another installment of "Animal Talk with Pecker". I am in the mood to celebrate an unknown and under-appreciated creature from the wild.

Traditional medicine is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.
And without it, all the things like broken legs, a scratch that gets infected, diptheria, measles, mumps, rubella, typhus, yellow fever, appendicitis, etc. that traditional medicine renders non-lethal would be number one.

Go to a PT...much better and don't call themselves Doctors even though they have doctorates in physical therapy.
This.
Chiropractors are incredible marketers though, I'll give them that.

Yoga will give you 10x the benefit of what a chiropractor will give you because you are actually strengthening the muscles needed for proper alignment. However, if your back is really jacked up, an occasional adjustment can be helpful. Yoga is the bigger difference maker by far.

Don't chiropractors call themselves doctors?
Not an MD or DO. Not even a dentist. Just pure quack.

Adjustments do relieve pain in some cases, but not every damn thing like a chiro would have you believe.
With that said when I had a pinched nerve in my back it helped me a ton. Periodically it comes back and I go in once or twice and I am good. My chiro does lots of soft tissue work too though.

This is the problem I have with Western medicine. Surgeons are sometimes great and fixing things, but largely, there is no focus on preventing or solving issues. I think it's a function of a lazy society and big pharma. Depressed? Take a pill. Hbp? Take these pills. In pain? Take this pill, but not too many.

I was playing in an alumni softball game. I hit a great shot that should have been a triple, but second base wasn't secured properly, and when I rounded the bag it moved, and I hurt my kneew pretty badly.
Not to worry a classmate of mine was a chiro. He checked me out and told me I had done some bs to some muscle and he could adjust it. I chose to go to the emergency room. I tore my acl, mcl, and pcl.
My opinion of chiros was not high before that incident and was lower after.

The term "doctor" is reference to a level of education, not a profession like most think it is. What you think of as a "doctor" is actually a physician.
I agree that chiropractors are bullshite, though.

I've never been to a chiro, and agree with the general sentiment that they do more harm than good, but I'd like to ask everyone's opinion on this video:
LINK
I mean, he obviously did SOMETHING to help this guy, right?
And, full disclosure, this is the same chiro that came under fire for performing an adjustment on a newborn.

I can feel an immediate difference when I get my horse adjusted, but only with 1 of the few chiropractors I've tried. He's the only one I'll ever have do bodywork again. The rest I can tell no difference.
Dr Boldt? He's how I know there is something to it. There's no placebo effect in horses.

He is by far the best. BY FAR. The man is a miracle worker. I love feeling the difference the first time I get on after he's worked on my horse.

Many chiropractic practices are moving to a multidisciplinary and integrated approach.
Incorporating many forms of therapy (functional, exercise, physical) along with muscle work/massage and medical services that include trigger point and joint injections with all natural anti inflammatories. Cupping, ultrasound, dry needling, graston (a deep muscle “scraping” to break up adhesions), and TENS are other services provided all at the same clinic.
Why wouldn’t someone go to a clinic such as this instead of trying only one discipline at a time?

If it's been linked with death, doesn't that make the whole thing quackery and everyone associated with it a quack?

I’ve realized that about 95% of people that talk bad about something have absolutely no experience with the thing that they’re taking about
