I’m of the opinion there is a lot more money laundering going on across the board especially in smaller businesses.

Those mattress stores.
Have be money laundering for the Cartel. Bought a mattress a couple months back, and we were literally the only people in the store. The guy in there said he is lucky if he has 2-3 customers a weekend

That rug store on Bluebonnet across from Red Lobster.
Also, now that I think about it... Red Lobster.

This one I find most interesting because they have a tiny selection and they are way overpriced compared to just about anywhere online.
Just about everytime I go in they have buy 1 get 1 deals. After I discovered my protein, I refuse to use GNC anymore though

Apple honsestly. Prior to inventing the smartphone market their outlook was bleak. I think they’re also the reason Linux is still around also.

I’m honestly surprised that most malls stay in business.
Acadiana Mall is bankrupt and I read an article the other day listing several mall chain stores that are bankrupt, I think Gadzooks was one of them. Days are numbered for sure.

Apple had the ipod before the iPhone and their laptop sales were definitely trending upward

There is a podcast called "Household Names" and there is an episode called "The Mattress Firm Conspiracy Theory". It explains this situation.

All the CVS Walgreens & such. I know at least from my own medical insurance they were trying to go all mail order on drugs and I figured brick & mortar drug stores would be few and far between. It pretty much exploded after that. Even in my small town in the middle no nowhere we have drug stores everywhere.
Not only can people get medication in short order (which is important if you are in pain, or a condition will worsen in 24 hours...they also adapted by adding the walk-in clinics. That way they can get the patient, charge insurance and keep them in house for the prescription. Brilliant.

Red Lobster.
I seriously don't understand how a chain seafood restaurant like Red Lobster does so well in South Louisiana.
Another one I will add. Piccadilly. I thought all of their customers would have died off by now.

If you’ve ever had to wait in line behind three relatively normal people at the pharmacy as the tech takes at least 5 minutes for each one scrambling to round up all their prescriptions, then it’s easier to understand. The US is addicted to prescriptions, and that doesn’t include all the aging baby boomers.
However, the demise of chain drugstores has been predicted for years. The stores are usually profitable when they first open, but many struggle to break even after the first year. The company’s stock price keeps going up as long as the company is expanding and opening locations. It’s a ticking time bomb because their inventory of bad stores also grows.

Ryan Theriot was pissed when their to-go location in town closed.

Absolutely 100%.
70% of the US is either obese or overweight. It’s much easier to take lisinopril and atorvastatin than it is to eat right, exercise, and live a healthy lifestyle. The two things that really bother me are when I see someone walk up with a script for phentermine (weight loss drug) and check out with a 12 pack of coke and a box of oreos. And then of course I’ve seen 50 and 60 year old folks bring in scripts for Adderall and then a sleeping pill because they can’t sleep. But what choice to Docs have? If they don’t give their whiny patients the drugs they want, they’ll lose them
