Our company sends hundreds of vendor payments in the form of a check through the mail every week wtf are you talking about? And yes OP we have had an uptick in slow as frick delivery and stolen checks. Our checks are taking weeks sometimes to go within a few hours of our office
re: LSU Finance/Accounting Alumni, how has your Degree treated you? What's your yearly salary?
Posted by JumpingTheShark on 5/18/26 at 9:45 am to Chastains
Accounting:
Spent about 10 years in audit/advisory, 5 years in consulting and now in industry
Did big 4, regional firms, all that. Now working at a mid size tech company out east and enjoying it. frick public. Get your CPA, there’s a shortage. Old boomer partners starting to realize that and you can use it for leverage if your firm is working on a succession plan that doesn’t involve selling out to PE

re: The new normal: $60+ for a tank of gas

Does everyone in this thread drive a Passat? It’s easily over $100 a tank if I’m anywhere below a quarter tank. I have an f150 for reference, and that is filling up currently at sams

re: Anyone successfully post on Reddit long term?
Posted by JumpingTheShark on 4/29/26 at 11:52 pm to Havoc
Reddit could be the worst echo chamber in existence. Whereas Instagram has carefully created my algorithm, reddits it’s basically prebuilt to push anything remotely portraying trump negatively at what seems like a 50% rate. They will then actively promote and push any woke arse comment to the top of every forum. Gets old and I’m not even a fan of Trump or politics at all
re: Of all Spielberg movies I've watched Hook the most
Posted by JumpingTheShark on 4/26/26 at 3:41 pm to boomjosh
This came out when I was a kid and I’ve always loved it, seen it tons of times, so I was surprised when I got older to see it got mediocre reviews. I love Hook.

re: The Chosen - Who's caught up and what's the board's opinion on the series?
Posted by JumpingTheShark on 4/1/26 at 11:28 am to finchmeister08
It’s good but I am not a fan of them making Christ out to be so sarcastic, at least in the modern sense. Obviously Jesus spoke in parables and metaphors a lot but it was an interesting creative touch to have him make snarky comebacks at the Jewish priests.
