As somebody who doesn’t have Canes at their finger tips, I would disagree. It is way better than Zaxby’s which is the only other option.
You guys bitch and moan about Canes but when you don’t have it anymore, it sucks.

All the CVS Walgreens & such.
the convenience of not have to go to grocery store or god forbid Walmart to get a few Knick Knacks you can't is worth it. I'll add dollar stores to that list of places I hate going into.

1. Winn/Dixie : figured Walmart and Costco would have put this 1980’s familiy icon chain store out of business. In the past, WD had regional chain competitors like National, Kroger, and Albertsons to contend with but even today, the beef people continue to have the highest prices around. Too many alternatives now .

Pelicans post Katrina. Could you really blame them if they left? Solid commitment to the city and region that they stuck around. The Hornets were such a huge success in OKC that Seattle relocated and has thrived.

Got into the college bookstore route and online ordering. Absolutely the worst IT personnel I have ever encountered. Like a nightmare, they keep bringing in new "ideas" for applications when the existing ones are still fubarred.

Not sure if Blackberry has been mentioned. I thought they were dead after they missed out to iPhone and Android.

Those mattress stores.
Have be money laundering for the Cartel. Bought a mattress a couple months back, and we were literally the only people in the store. The guy in there said he is lucky if he has 2-3 customers a weekend
And they're on every fricking corner. It's mind boggling

Im actually an area manager for a mattress chain now.
Mattress Firm actually did laundering so not incorrect. They also bought an insane amount of stores with corporate money, then resold the property to friends. Like well over 100 times. That's why you see so many weirdly places Mattress firms.
I usually have 2-4 customers a day. But most buy when they come in because no one comes in for fun. So we operate on 43 percent margins give or take per sale. Mattress Firm operates on about 56 percent margins on new beds, because of their refund policies.
I also get percentages from every mattress sold in my areas as well. My 9 stores average about 2.4k in sales on a weekday. About 4.1k on weekends. So the profit is there to keep it afloat.
They pay commission at 7 percent. You have one person in the store and if they dont hit comm they get 8 an hour. So overhead is very small.
I've only been doing it for 4 months since I closed my business, so still new to it.
The closing ratio should be about 70 percent. With great salesmen being over 80 percent. So if you have 4 in, you better sell 3.
Money is there. With my comm plus my extra from the other stores, my check is as healthy as it was when I did financing at a dealership after college. Add in I literally watch Netflix or read 5-6 hours a day, do paperwork and take TO calls. Like 3 hours of work total.
I sold a bed to an LSU fan that comes on here about a month ago. I dont remember his account name though when he told me it. Really cool dude and his wife was cool as well enjoyed selling to them.
Either way. Mattress stores are sustainable. Just have to have the right sales people in place. On average the district makes 68.6k a day for us weekdays and 82.1k weekends. Delivery is the major hit to the overall cost though. Free delivery and warehouse operations take a good chunk..and they aren't very good at their jobs.
