Businesses that are still open that you thought wouldn’t be in business 15 years ago

Best Buy - I remember when Circuit City shut down many people said they would eventually suffer the same fate. Everything is going online and no one buys electronics at brick and mortar places and yet they’re still thriving.
GNC - for those who workout and/or into health and fitness, many considered the online supplement and vitamin places would put them out of business. They’re still around and actually growing.
Any other surprises that are still doing well despite what you would have thought back around 2004 or so?

GNC
This one I find most interesting because they have a tiny selection and they are way overpriced compared to just about anywhere online.

Both of these places were able to adapt to eccomerce, which is why they're still open

All the CVS Walgreens & such. I know at least from my own medical insurance they were trying to go all mail order on drugs and I figured brick & mortar drug stores would be few and far between. It pretty much exploded after that. Even in my small town in the middle no nowhere we have drug stores everywhere.

Radio Shack - they are consolidating rapidly. Amazon has basically killed their online business and their retail model is antiquated.
Barnes & Noble - even back in the 2000’s you could see online book buying start to cut into their business. Another one killed by amazon.
Applebees - shitty chain restaurant that stays alive with cheap deals
Burger King - by far the worst fast food chain out there as far as quality and customer service.
I’m honestly surprised that most malls stay in business.

People want their meds.
When do they want them?
NOW!

Pelicans post Katrina. Could you really blame them if they left? Solid commitment to the city and region that they stuck around. The Hornets were such a huge success in OKC that Seattle relocated and has thrived.
