Sunday night television became exciting when my Godparents bought a color TV set and the opening of Bonanza (insert ear worm here) in vibrant color was just plain exciting.

Decades later, my husband and I were watching a repeat, and noticed that the set was all wrong, the way the logs were pieced together at the ends. (Part of our house is a 200 year old log cabin and we learned about the real thing. Never noticed it before in years of watching Bonanza with our parents.)

My grandparents watched it and I remember Chevrolet showing the next year's models at the end of one show.

It's on my TV now as I work from home. Comes on at 10 AM every day. The rest of the day, it's Gunsmoke. And I've now taken a liking to Cheyenne as it comes on the same channel.

Perfect watching while working, you don't have to pay very close attention and can work, but you get the gist of what's going on, lol.

the early seasons were a lot more serious. Later on they tried to be funny and it wasn't as good. Same with Gunsmoke.

The B&W episodes of Gunsmoke are my favorite. Matt Dillon was a BAMF.

I remember the original series and loved it. I always thought Adam was a douche.

Friday nights at my grandparents was the Incredible Hulk, followed by the Dukes of Hazzard, followed by Dallas…. Saturday nights were the Love Boat followed by Fantasy Island… some of this was very grown up stuff for the 5 or 6 yr old me .

Always with a bowl of Neapolitan ice cream from a big arse tub container .

Shows like Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century were all the rage for about a year or two in the late 70s, after the release of the first Star Wars movie.. and i ate it all up.. then they were gone just as fast as they appeared , and by the early 80s detective shows like Magnum PI, Fall Guy and Matt Houston were more en vogue- and i loved them too .

Grew up watching this. We had a black and white tv. My uncle had a brand latest and greatest color tv. It was a big deal to see it in color.

I remember this lineup. I think Saturday night either Falcon Crest or Knots Landing played in last slot for the adults.
