Honest answer, the tundra is an amazingly reliable truck.
But, if it's my money, I'd buy a low mileage pro4x Titan for under 30k and run the nuts off of it.
The VK56 is a great motor, gets decent mileage, and will last indefinitely with oil changes.

Too bad Titans are like third-gen Dodge Rams: decent engines, but the rest of the truck is cheap crap. Not built to last, in my experience.
Also, those special rear diffs on Pro-4X Titans are known to be pretty fragile.

2010 platinum crew cab with 180k. Don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. Just bought a used Honda Accord to use for daily driving/work and will use the Tundra on weekends and trips.

Still have my 06 Silverado with 280k miles. A thing of beauty she is.
All you have to do is keep the oil changed and don't drive like a psycopath and your truck will last you hundreds of thousands of miles.

3 reasons why i chose the tundra
1) Resale Value. I bought my first one in 10 for 32k, traded it in ‘14 for 28k. Was able to upgrade truck without spending much more money.
2) Reliability, never had a single issue, but i have relatively low miles on my truck.
3) The thing about other brands, i hate how they change body styles all the time and I’m left wanting to get a new truck because I’m driving the old style. With my 6 year old truck, it looks brand new. I’ll get the new tundra when they come out with it (i believe it’s suppose to be 2022 model)

I'm driving an 07 and had my first big maintenance bill last spring. The bulk of it was a pump that was covered under manufacturer's extended warranty out to 10 years, but I was at 12 years and paid to replace it.
I had to get rid of a Ford Ranger at 12 years. Not this Tundra.
