yes...for every story of a reliable Tundra, there is one for an F-150 or Silverado.
However, Ford sold 451,000 F-150s last year, Chevy sold 291,000 Silverados and Toyota sold 55,000 Tundras. So, if they were as reliable, you would have 5 stories of reliable Silverados, and 8 stories of reliable F-150s for every reliable Tundra story.

Dude, this is the OT, a Tundra will last a gazzilion miles on one oil change and still drive through concrete walls...

I have a 2006 Tundra. Bought it new when I got out of college, and have been driving it ever since. It has 104k miles and has never given me any problems.

There are way more stories of reliable domestic trucks. The cult of Toyota people just never shut up to hear them.

Toyota made us a smoking deal on two of the first Tundras to roll off the line in San Antonio since we we're a major contractor in the plant construction. One was bullet proof the three years we had it the other was a lemon that was consistantly in the shop. Ended up selling both of them and going back to Fords like we have in the rest of the company. Fords had a good run up until the issue we've had with EcoBoost engines lack of oil pressure at start up. I guess they have fixed that issue, we did end up having to put new engines in 4 or 5 trucks though. I know the 36 gal fuel tank and 20+ mpg I get in my current F150 is the tits.

I’d probably buy an ecoboost if I was in the market. The 5.0 sounds troublesome since Ford started with the plasma.

I will say this. I have a 2016 F150 with 22K on it. Bought it new. Had a coolant leak the first week, took it to the shop and they had it a week waiting on the part, but since then, no issues. It's been a good truck, has the 5.0, which is the only engine I would buy in a Ford and so far so good. Hope I can get 10 or more years out of it.
I do sort of agree that most of them today will last if taken care of.
I wanted a Tundra bad, probably will get one with my next truck, but I couldn't justify spending the additional money on one over the Ford. I don't currently have any regrets. Currently.

Other than expected reliability or personal preference, I don’t think there’s much reason to buy tundra over a Ford. You’ll get more tech, more mpg, more engine options with the Ford. I bought a Tundra bc I liked the looks and reliability was my primary concern but I’m not going to try to convince anyone that it’s a “better” truck bc it’s probably not.
