Yeah I am going to drive where I want, with the full knowledge and preparation I may get stuck. Now understand, my truck handles heavy snow in the mountains just fine and I have decades of experience driving in inclement weather before I moved to Texas. If people want to take the risk, with no expectation of "rescue" they should be able.

No. The government stole your money via taxation. Then, they contracted with a third party on your behalf to get the roads built. Then, they get you to pay for permission to use the roads that you paid to build. All of these things they do at the threat of putting you in jail if you don't comply.
