I’ve had tendinitis now for 2 months. I’ve done all the stretches, iced it, worn the braces and straps, done the common weight lifts to help, etc…. I went to the doctor and he confirmed it’s lateral epicondylitis or “tennis elbow” (I don’t play tennis). He recommended against a cortisone injection because it’s a small area and he doesn’t think it’s that effective for this.

I can’t get it to go away, anyone got any sure fire therapies to get rid of it outside of the standard stuff I’ve already mentioned?

I went with one of those cheap braces on Amazon. That combined with rest made it better.

ETA this is what I bought LINK

I have battled tennis elbow twice. First time did the braces and it took forever to go away. Second round I said screw and did the injection. Have never looked back. Did you go to a primary or a specialist?

I just got over this, took 4 months. I took anti-inflammatories twice a week, stopped doing things that hurt the elbow, used a strap over the area (actually on the upper forearm, a strap that pressed on the ligaments) and time. It took FOREVER to go away

I had if for damn near a year before it finally subsided. Do not do any activity that aggravates at all period! Do the stretching multiple times daily, ice it 2-3 x daily and ibuprofen every 8 hours. Good luck

Keep doing the exercises. Tennis elbow takes several months of consistent exercising to get it to go away.

Try dry needling by a physical therapist.
Make sure you are wearing braces correctly, about 2-3 finger widths below actual elbow, avoid any forceful gripping motions, stretch your forearm extensors

I went to a specialist, I knew what I had honestly I was hoping for an injection but his response was basically suck it up and stretch. I have the strap for my tendon that I wear when I’m doing activity. Should I start slamming ibuprofen?

Im just getting over it. I did every exercise, lotion, potion, rehab, stim, cortisone shot, etc, etc. The ONLY thing that works is rest, period. IMO.

I had to get surgery years ago because of this. The injections would only work to stop the pain temporarily and finally after a year of treatment, we said frick it and got the operation. My elbow wasn't at full normal strength again for 11 months.
