Passengers complaining how hard it is to climb into my lifted truck. I was thinking a Mazda CX3 or a Ford Focus.
I’ve got a lifted 2022 F250 but my daily is a 2023 Tesla MP3. I love my little Tesla as a daily.

Subaru Outback. I know, i know. Lots of Coloardo Baws have these cars though. have better 4wd systems than most American Trucks. easy to park, plenty of room for grocery runs and 4 people fit inside just fine. not super expensive either and if you take care of them they will last forever.

I have a raptor and a couple sports cars. Earlier this year my MIL was looking to unload her 2013 corolla. I picked it up for a decent price, put a new CarPlay unit in it from Amazon and did a full-service on it. It's been a great runabout/airport car for us. 30+mpg on 87 gas. It's nice enough that everything works but crappy enough to not care about its cosmetics. Park it on the street or in the smallest spot. I keep impeccable care of our cars but it's been nice having a care free car to not worry about. The bad is it really does feel like a tin can lol and can barely get out of its own way. I imagine someone will come along we know in desperate need for a car and I'll upgrade a bit.

i recently got a Kia Sportage. I couldn't be happier. I commute 160 miles round trip 3 days a week and have a HS senior playing softball and Senior at Tech running xc and track. I drive a LOT. My NEXT vehicle will not be this but It's perfect for my current lifestyle.

Work/hunting truck is a 2012 Tunda, commuter car is 2015 Honda Accord, I highly recommend both

I drive a scion Xb and I think it’s the most practical vehicle ever made. I’m on my second one after someone totaled my first one.
How fast were you going when you were drinking your Four Loko?

I just got out of a 2024 Trax 1RS (the first edition of the refresh), and I put almost 90,000 miles on it before trading it in.
Freakishly good little car. I was irritated when GM got out of the small car business. But they landed back into that segment with the Trax.....and it's impressive.
It has a 6 speed and not a stupid CVT, which is a huge plus.
The slightly larger version, called the Trailblazer, can be had with AWD if that's important.

I have a Honda Civic 2017 - purchased new right after college (truck broke down) and have out 150k miles on it. I am patiently waiting for the car to explode so I can get a major upgrade.
I mean, I would think that car is just now reaching its half life.

My sister who is in her 80's always owned a Honda. One thing I had thought about, it's harder for older people to get in and out of cars that sit low. So she bought the Rav 4 and loves it.

2022 Ford Edge. Stopped making them in 2024 I believe. Inexpensive, good ride, good power and roomy. Coming from an Expedition the mpg is great. Daily driver and I've driven all if the country in it.

Im coming around to those bc of Bill's posts and driving my neighbor's, and I always thought Rivian's were cool. Keeping the the Targa and the M5, though.
The self-driving of the Tesla is lights-out.

Ive always had both a car and a truck. I like it. Rack up the commuting miles on the car, save a lot of gas and most importantly, save me from having to buy trucks so often. I drive as much as 30k miles a year though so its unique use case. It takes A LOT of miles for the math to shake out doing it.

We rode 4 full grown adults from Raceland to Avondale carpooling in a Honda Fit and it was big enough and very practical.
Id also recommend a Honda HR-V. Again another coworker of mine had one and we took it to lunch quite a few times. Again plenty enough room for 4 passengers and very economical.

I've always had a small car for my commute. Why would I waste money that I earn driving something with shitty MPG if I am not using it for its intended purpose? There are too many people driving around their lifted white F150s that will never go off road and only use the bed twice a year.
This may surprise you, but there are people out there who enjoy their vehicles for more that the bare utility they provide.
I don’t drive a white F150, but I do drive a truck. I take a second look at it every time I get out. I’m happy to pay a premium for the pleasure I get out of looking at it and driving it - including the two times every year I take it off road.
