In 2013, Welsh computer engineer James Howells mistakenly disposed of a laptop hard drive containing the private key for 8,000[a] Bitcoin in the Docksway landfill in Newport, Wales. Howells subsequently assembled a team of specialists and secured funding to excavate the site, but Newport City Council refused permission, citing the environmental impact of the search including dangerous gases, methane, asbestos, and toxic leachate. If the coins are discovered, Howells proposes distributing 30% of the proceedings among the council and the population of Newport.

As of February 2025, the missing Bitcoin was worth £597 million (US$751 million). In December 2024, Howells sued the council for £495 million, with the council contesting that the device is now its property. Howells and his team are confident that retrieval of the data remains possible, while the council continues to profess its scepticism. Following a hearing, the High Court dismissed Howells' claim in January 2025, ruling that it had no prospect of success.
Nearly half a million dollars worth of bourbon has been stolen in a broad daylight heist, in one of the largest thefts of its kind this year.

Approximately 10,800 cases of Noble Oak bourbon were picked up by a truck driver to transport them from a North Philadelphia warehouse to New Jersey Friday, but the shipment never made it to its final destination.

Rob Koch, chief operating officer of Noble Oak's parent company A-21 Wine and Spirits, said: "It seems like an organised group of criminals deceived one of our warehouse locations by getting them to load up about 11,000 bottles of bourbon into their vehicles…and made off with a whole ton of bourbon.

As good as that song is have to disagree. Carly Simon nails it

You can have sex on the beach

Years back there was a beach in Southern California where you could buy beer right on the beach. But eventually they quit selling beer there. Why?

Because they kept getting sand in their Schlitz.
If you are a fan of drag racing you know Miss Hurst Shifter Linda Vaughn

I played ball with a guy who was a guard on Woodens last championship team along with Walton. Said the 1st official day of practice was also picture day. Walton shows up 1/2 hour late, hair down to the middle of his back. That was a no no at that time. Wooden told don't come back til you cut that hair.

Practice was the next day.

A bands greatest song

Pick any band, even your favorite one and list which song you think is their greatest. I'll throw a couple out there.

Rolling Stones ... Sympathy for the Devil
Led Zeppelin ... Stairway to Heaven

Beatles ... ????????

Instead of a new thread I'll post this baseball trivia question here, since the Yankees will be mentioned.

Who has won the most world series rings that isn't a Yankee, wasn't a Yankee or a coach or manager?

The Western Region VP of the company I used to work for was 6'4" tall. Flew the corporate jet to a company meeting The CEO at the time, this was a multi billion dollar company was 5'5" tall. His chair was right next to the CEO. Before the meeting started he ordered someone to find a "shorter" chair for him.

There is also a large % of blacks who likely think it’s murder but just see the race and go with the black person because they are due,

Somewhere around the early 80's when MLK became a non paid holiday the place I worked had approx 20 blacks working there. A couple of them knew they could demand the day off, without pay and couldn't be refused. A couple wanted to stay, work, get paid for the day. The rest ganged up on them, pretty much forced them to leave.

What did they do on heir day off? Went to the race track.
