This is one of the worst officiated soccer matches I’ve ever watched.
re: Question about Jim Crow laws from a Yankee.

But again, I’m a Yankee so what do I know about the south 140 years ago?
With the internet, you know the same as anyone who lives down here. It’s not like people are passing down family stories on the motivations of legislators enacting these laws.

I think it’s gay that you’ve even put yourself in a position to see something like this in real life

oh. Well this surely will be the definitive list that should be taken seriously.
Is there a serious version of “Playoff Bracket for Worst Fans in College Football”?

Not sure what is more far fetched, Jefferson playing for Arkansas last year or anyone being excited about Arnold. Did ChatGPT hallucinate this post?

This would make sense if there was even the slightest similarity between a recently nuked Japanese population and our enemies in the Middle East.

Yesterday afternoon in Chicago was crazy. Serious wind and lightning.
Decent line of storms came through when I was at Midway a bit ago too.

Yeah, I read the last couple because I felt obligated to.
This one feels fresh and familiar at the same time. Certainly worth the read for Carr fans.

The Fourth Option, by Jack Carr

For the James Reece fans amongst us, Jack Carr’s new series following Chris Walker (another former SEAL) is fantastic. As a bonus, this first novel is set in New Orleans, so the scene is very familiar (if a little exaggerated).

I’m torn on this. On the one hand I want LSU to have every competitive advantage possible over our athletic peers. On the other hand, athletes already get so much money and preferential treatment that they should now get more? It’s nauseating just like when it was proposed NIL money was state tax free for athletes. Thankfully those failed.
Right there with you.
Not happening.

That and UFL doesn’t count
UFL will likely fail because football fans in Oklahoma (other than Oklahoma State) won’t want to watch second rate football. Make all the jokes about OU you want, but Norman is a 20 minute drive from downtown OKC and it’s about as good as it gets for a football experience.
OKC has had a AAA baseball team for as long as I can remember. The current stadium may be 25 years old now, but when your population actually cares about maintaining cleanliness, it’s easy to keep things fresh.
The soccer situation will be interesting. Soccer is huge in Oklahoma and no one has been spoiled by a better soccer product. I think a nice, small stadium, in an area specifically designed for entertainment (again, something you can only develop in a city with respectable people who crave progress for their community) will be enough to keep it alive.
I’m realizing now that you may be from Chalmette, so I’ll forgive you for some of this being over your head.

no shite, they’re not getting anything else
In addition to the NBA team, the Dodgers AAA team (OKC Comets) play in a beautiful park right in the heart of downtown.
They are also getting a 10,000 seat soccer stadium to house the new team coming in 2028 owned by Russell Westbrook and Jozy Altidore, among others.
OKC is a fantastic city. There are a million things to do. It’s clean and safe. It has great food.
