re: Deboer and Penn State Rumors

This has officially gotten stupid.
Yeah but.

I'm not sure anyone is "developing" talent anymore. One of the reasons Saban got out is kids didn't want to follow the "process" any more. We don't know how good Cignetti will be when his core of JMU players moves on. Buying talent and making fits out of the portal may well be the foreseeable future.

NFL, NBA, MLB, no one develops talent anymore. No one sits the bench to learn. Pay me, play me. MLB outlawed the shift because no one can hit to the opposite field. Base running is excrebil. NBA is 3s and dunks. Routes in the NFL are slop. Yell at a HS qb and Karen takes him to a different school.

And yes, old men yell at clouds.

This would be a good hire. Stabilize the program.

This is gonna take some effort on your part.
Did the last SEC Short get posted here? It was brilliant, and almost all Aggie.
He wants an easier path to the playoff. Ducked the SEC to be the big fish in the PAC12 only to have it implode, and now he's looking up at OSU, OU, Michigan. I could see him wanting into the ACC.
Are they gonna march on Sextons office? That's where the decisions are being made.
Drink did that on his last extension. It's a smart play.

A quiet hire with low expectations. This will work.
Then Saban is the exception that proves the rule.
Yep. Better to get them on the bounce.
Why do people want this so much? History tells us every time this century a name coach makes a move like this the next stop ends up a disaster. Even Saban cratered at Miami.

Might be that crowd of folks out in the parking lot. The ones wearing Colt McCoy T-shirts, white plastic cowboy hats and waving rusty farm implements.
Sexton pumping multiple schools simultaneously.
Evidently you've never lived through a Tennessee coach search.
