The pictures of the jumpers still get to me. There was a video of a fireman's story about planning to enter the building. He tells of being in a meeting off the lobby of Tower #1 & hearing these sounds ..."thumping"...above him. Asked what that repeated noise was & he was told that it was the sounds of jumpers hitting the roof above them. There was a photo, cover page of LIFE Magazine, & it was of a man just leaving a window.

But my parents and I were some of the last people who were on top of the WTC as we had gone to NYC at the end of August. For whatever reason school started late in 2001 for us.

We had gone in 98/99 and done every touristy thing you could except for one.. the WTC and we did in late August 2001. It’s so eerie looking at pictures of us there on the building

The like $10 a slice sbarro pizza that was the grossest pizza I’ve ever eaten where you could look down on the bench at almost the very top inside the restaurant straight down and see the street 90+floors below


Then 2 weeks later everything changed.

We went back in 2003 and my dad who’s a heavy equipment operator were just amazed at the excavation going on and to see the massive dig going on.

I didn’t go back until 2016. Went to the museum and lasted about an hour. I couldn’t handle it. That was really tough and it did sort of give me some closure to it.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years. It’s absolutely one of those “ you remember where you were” days .

9/11 will never not piss me off.

Some people still pretend it didn't happen. frick them.

Many of us remember. Many of us have forgotten. And some want us to be like them.

I was literally on premises at the Pentagon and Capitol Hill that morning. Was also at the US Supreme Court as news broke about the first plane and when the second plane was hit.


I walked all the way across Northwest that day to ultimately get on a shuttle to go home, past the Pentagon which was still smoldering and maybe still in flames.

I will never ever forget this Hispanic kid looking at me on the bus and asking, “ why them people did that?”

The next idk how many months I pretty much thought every day that I could be a victim of some terrorist attack.

ETA Security at the SCOTUS told me verbatim “Get the frick out of here right now.” When I walked away from there, congressman st one of the office building were being whisked away in black cars.

Crazy shite that day. People saying the “mall was on fire.” We were like the MallMall or the shopping mall?

Also by the time I got in that bus, rumors already going around. I heard some chick say into her cell phone (btw remember this was pre-iPhone) “yeah they shot it down.”

My parents are elderly and on of my dad's classmates ended up in Texas. One of their sons graduated from TA&M. I think he served, but I don't remember the branch.

On 9/11 the young man found himself in lower Manhattan for a conference. He was standing near the WTC when the second plane hit. He was on the side opposite of where the impact was. As everyone was looking up in disbelief large amounts of debris started to rain down on the streets.

There was and elderly lady there and he grabbed her and folk lack if better words shoved her under a concrete bench an shielded her body with his as the street was peppered with glass and airplane parts from hundreds of feet above.

I’ve recently been rewatching the ABC News coverage of 9/11. They don’t make anchors like Peter Jennings anymore.

Crazy that it's been that long. I was so young when it happened. I was about 9.5 months old and we were on vacation in Orange Beach. From what I was told, my mother was sobbing in front of the TV the whole day. They, like many other Americans, questioned whether or not they were safe anymore.

I never really understood anything about 9/11 for much of my childhood since I was a baby when it happened. I remember truly learning about what happened that day for the first time when we discussed it in school on the 10th anniversary. I first truly understood the impact of that day when I went to the Newseum in DC with my family. We got the the 9/11 exhibit, which had a piece of the lightning rod from the north tower and all the newspaper headlines from around the world displayed behind it, and my mother just started sobbing again like she did in 2001. Seeing that really got me truly understand what that day meant to so many Americans.

While I was too young to remember that day, I will still never forget. I wish the rest of my generation could do the same.
