Fresh Kills is one of the less talked about aspects of 9/11. The sheer scope of debris and rubble is hard to comprehend. Fresh kills "only" got around a third of the overall debris. Things that were known not to have remains or identifiable belongings were shipped to other landfills and recycling centers. Something like 1,500+ vehicles had to be removed and recycled. AC units, office equipment, large slabs of concrete, and other debris that was cleared went elsewhere. I believe around 30% of the rubble was ultimately recycled, most of it being concrete that was pulverized for road fill and such and steel. It was a monumental task.

At about age 11 and my little brother was 9 my father took us to the observation deck and top floors of one of those buildings. At that time they were the highest buildings in the entire US. Still have the photo from the observation deck on a dark cloudy day with the Statue of Liberty in the far background framed at my folks' house right now. I was a terrible little child and I'm frowning in the photo while my little brother is smiling.

And the countless thousands upon thousands who have died of cancer and respiratory illnesses since then.

If we can't blame Muslims for what happened 25 years ago, then you can't blame whites for what happened 200 years ago.

I saw a video that after we killed Osama that we went through all his hard drives and talked to people he communicated with, he said that Osama was not happy with the aftermath of 9/11. He said it did not go as planned. He thought after the attacks on 9/11, we would get all the Americans out of the middle east for good and we would leave them alone.
