I appreciate that the ceremony at the National September 11th Memorial (Ground Zero) doesn’t include politicians making speeches. It should always remain non-partisan and very somber.

I was 29 years old, stationed at Fort Knox. Even being far away in Kentucky it was a terrifying day. The surreal images of the WTC collapse, the massive fireball when the South Tower was struck. There were rumors of fires at the State Department and The Mall.
Information was slower than it is today. Most everyone was on dial up Internet and a lot of websites crashed from the traffic.
A truly horrific day and I’ll never not forget it. God bless the victim’s families, the survivors and the heroic first responders.

Democrats would put the devil himself in charge if that’s what it took to overthrow the other party. Whatever is against god or country they are all for it

One of the wives of the victims saying the names just went off on the past presidents for not going after Saudi Arabian leaders who helped plan everything. And crowd erupted in applause

NYC definitely forgot. And the country also mostly forgot.
For if we really didn’t ever forget and more importantly, if we didn’t ever forgive, we’d have kicked every single Muslim out of this country starting on 9/12 with extreme prejudice and barred entry to them for any reason whatsoever.

I wonder what the Mayor of NYC is going to do/say today.
I am not trying to be political, but it is crazy that just 25 years later we have a 9/11 apologist as the Mayor of NYC. Absolutely blows my mind.

I can’t possibly forget that day. I don’t understand how people who were alive then can. 25 years later and it’s clear that some have forgotten.

I was in school and remember we had those big TVs on wheels and we could get major cable channels, but nothing else. Our social studies teacher was all flustered reading about something then wheeled the TV in and turned it on maybe 10 minutes before the second plane hit. Saw it happen.
I have a hard time typing this without getting emotional and I know no one that perished.
They brought us into the gym to tell us about it and have a prayer. Not every classroom had been watching the TV like ours and we were telling people what we saw and it rippled through the school. One of our teachers (another grade) had a family member in the tower and was absolutely distraught and peeled out of our parking lot. Turns out they did die that day.
Then all of the rumors of Louisiana being the next target because of Bush and Exxon and Barksdale, etc. Most kids were picked up by their parents.
Wild fricking time.

I just started my first semester at LSU and I came out of my room to head out for class and my roommates were watching CNN. I asked what they were watching and they said a small plane flew into one of the towers, we all cracked jokes about how bad of a pilot you have to be to hit the biggest tower in the city, and then the second hit and everyone's jaw hit the floor in shock.

I was in 3rd grade and now I'm almost 34. Crazy how it's been 25 years since the day. The saddest of days and I never saw the country more united after 9/11.

I’m not sure if he will be giving remarks elsewhere, but politicians aren’t allowed to give remarks at the ceremony at Ground Zero.
