Harris County.
Have they relaxed the dress code? Jeans are allowed? I ask this to ask, if I wear jeans does that make me more or less likely to be picked?
I fully intend on being VERY opinionated on any surveys.
Slacks or jeans? Not asking what’s proper and less trashy. Slacks are the obvious answer. I only ask in the interest of getting sent home.

Don’t go.
What are they going to do, stab you?

Wear what you want. It is a fun experience though.

Or you could just do your civic duty and try and get on the jury.

You retired?
Have a boss who is not a twat?
My answer is no to both.

They can’t prove you received the jury summons as it’s not certified mail.

Exactly. This is especially true in Harris County. You have about a 50/50 chance of getting anything mailed to you.
So, just don't go if you want out that bad.

how old are you? I don't know about Texas, but in Mississippi if you're over 65 out you can get out...

This. I sat on a harris county jury for over week one time and yes it was a pain and I was glad that I did it. Trust me that if the roles were reversed and anyone was the accused you would want a qualified jury pool deciding your fate. I came away from that experience fully convinced that in the US there may be hundreds if not thousands in prison that are fully innocent. The legal and justice system doesn’t work for everyone and especially if the jury pool has the intelligence of a bag of rocks.

Years ago my niece got called into jury duty for a murder trial. While being interviewed or when the officials were talking to the group of potential jurors, I forgot which, she makes a rather loud comment. "Sounds guilty to me" lol
She was released soon after! lol
Just be loud and opinionated, especially about their guilt or innocence, and I guarantee you will be released.

I got called for Jefferson County, AL (Birmingham) not long ago. Fortunately my group was dismissed after a couple of days and we didn’t have to sit for a trial. Key take away: NEVER put yourself in a position to be tried by a jury of your ‘peers’ in Birmingham, AL.

Jeans are fine, assuming they don't look like you just worked in an oil field.
Stop trying to get out of shite, and do it. Somehow, I've only been called twice (I was in Belgium once,) and the last time they didn't even swear us in before sending us home.

Go do your civic duty and serve. You could be the one person who makes a difference for a party when all around cave.

Enjoyed it a quite a bit.
The other jurors were very cool and we got to send a child molester to Angola for 10-15.
