Eleven people have become ill, with two people being hospitalized, after consuming raw, unpasteurized milk, the Louisiana Department of Health said Tuesday.

Since April 23, the people experiencing illness have tested positive for campylobacteriosis and/or cryptosporidiosis, infectious intestinal diseases. The people who became ill all reported consuming raw milk from three different milking operations in Louisiana.

"Under Louisiana law, raw milk may only be sold or distributed for animal or pet consumption. Louisiana Department of Health does not regulate the production of raw milk or raw milk products," LDH said.

According to LDH, raw milk bypasses the pasteurization process, which is the heating of milk to a specific temperature for a set period of time to eliminate disease-causing germs. Pasteurization does not eliminate the nutritional benefits of milk, health officials added.

Raw milk is pretty good after you strain the blood and the puss out of it.

I used to drink it as a child. I would go to the barn with my great aunt and watch her milk her cow. Then we would drink the milk. It never caused me any problems but that cow had not been injected with a list of pharmaceuticals either.

Had a kid who drank unpasteurized milk, ended up with E. coli hemolytic uremic syndrome, followed by kidney failure and a bowel perforation.

Had to get a kidney transplant.

Scruffy doesn’t frick with that nonsense.

Most now aren’t using rBst hormones as most milk processors won’t buy milk if it has been used.

Mostly they use antibiotics if ill and vaccines which is preventative care and in a herd needed. These have been used for a hundred years.

Raw milk makes the best cheese you can ever eat.

Difference is you didn’t hook up dirty cow udders to milking machines that were laying in cow shite, then collect all the milk in a container and let it sit, warm, as you fill it up with other milk that was run through the same milking machine.

Dairy farming is a wet dirty process.

Nooo that would be encephalitis or swelling of the brain that causes retardation or autism.
Many things cause encephalitis like injecting toxins that exceed the toxicity limit of adults along with viruses into the bloodstream of ten pound humans
