$150,000,000 for four years. That equates to $2.2 million per game. Each NFL game is roughly 11 minutes of playing time. Assume offense is half of that so 5 minutes of actual action playing time would be payment of $441,000 per minute. Lunacy.

Now factor in practice minutes and film

Brian Kelly is worth the money though. That's apples and bicycles you're comparing.

And I don't get how your post was a joke.

Are you dense or just retarded?

i thought putting his wrongly-worded tweet in quotes and implying i was talking about David Carr when I asked if he could sling it after 10 years would be enough of a giveaway that I was joking

Why the hell would I be talking about Derek Carr in that context?

Do the Saints still have their First round pick? Sorry for being uninformed, I just heard about this 2 minutes ago.

that is a huge chunk of irony no doubt.

But he's what we have now.

What remains the mystery is how much of the shots DA is calling in the building compared to Payton.

Right?

I'd bet it's not the kind of say Sean had.

I believe we overpaid a little, but Loomis usually does.

Carr needs to get some help now and im not sure we have enough resources in this years draft to do it.

we need youth at every level on D just as bad as a WR, RB, TE.

I will be honest don’t totally love this move but we are in a tight spot neither in a complete rebuild or sure contender, it’s a really tough call. I guess with Brady leaving and the NFC South being so weak, Loomis said let’s try to get one more hayride. Obviously, Dennis Allen is just trying to save his arse. It’s worth a shot, don’t blame anyone for it, it’s not a boneheaded move or anything, it will either work or not. I am cautiously optimistic but time will tell. It’s obviously better than totally trying to rebuild and just admitting that we’re going to suck for a few years, I just hope we’re not simply kicking the can down the road. Dennis Allen has to be a significantly better coach for this to work, and that’s my greatest fear on all of it.

I don't know if this has been posted...
It's really a 33 million per year for 3 years or 35 million per year for 2 years - per SI

quote:

First of all, it’s clear now why the Raiders couldn’t trade him. He was due $75 million over the next two years in Vegas. He’ll get $60 million over the next two in New Orleans. He was due $116.3 million over the next three years in Vegas. He’ll get $100 million over the next three in New Orleans. And so the reason the Raiders couldn’t trade him wasn’t about who he is as a player—it was who he is a player against the contract another team would’ve had to inherit to acquire him.

Second, the deal does give Carr more security than he had with the Raiders—which means, in one way, this happening the way it did, versus how it would’ve if he was traded, is a win for Carr. On his Raiders deal, he’d have made more this year ($33 million vs. $30 million), but Vegas could’ve released him thereafter at a penalty of $7.5 million. On this deal, his $60 million for the next two years is fully guaranteed, with, essentially, a penalty of $10 million for releasing him after that.

(Offsets being what they are, yes, that means Carr would get $70 million at a baseline for two years in New Orleans, but the Saints would save some, or all, of that $10 million, based on whatever he earned from a team to sign in 2025.)

Third, the $50 million in the final year is cosmetic. The reality is it is a three-year deal for $100 million, with a balloon payment he’s highly unlikely to see that makes it look like he got closer to the $40.5 million per he had on the Raiders deal.

Less than Geno Smith money
