that'll last half a series

Yeah, he'll waffle at some point. If he doesn't though than maybe he's grown more as a head coach. He's basically saying he's a CEO type of coach now but maybe not unfolding like he wanted?

I didn't care for his fake retirement and all of that, but I've also let go of whatever it was before after he left. Either you want to be the Saints coach, or you don't. But he did do us all a solid by winning a Super Bowl.

being an ungrateful a-hole is no way to live.

Ross Tucker Pod

Here is a recent podcast Ross Tucker did with Dane Brugler.

They start talking about Lemon around the 7:05 mark.

Brugler talks about his ability to beat zone coverages.

But just taking a look myself, he's like Olave in that they can both get open but when you look at Lemon's highlights, he does more in the YAC dept.

Yards after Catch!

Man if we didn't need skill position upgrades on offense so bad

I'm really starting to like Sonny Styles

it's amazing what speed at linebacker can do for the rest of your defense.

I reckon that demario is going to come back but you never know. I'd hate to lose him. he's still playing at a pretty high level even for his age.

I kind of think he'll be gone by the Saints pick.

A team that I could see taking him is the Giants at #5.

John Harbaugh inherited Ed Reed but also drafted Kyle Hamilton later on in the 1st round.

I'm sure he can appreciate the chance at picking a stud safety when he sees one.
Yeah commercials. in college football have gotten a lot worse
quote:

Plenty of good linemen have been found in the 3-7 rounds.

The Eagles had a perfect rotation of Linneman and kicked the Chiefs arse all across the field the until Eagles called off the dogs.

There is most certainly an imperfect system of developing O-lineman problem in the league.

it's a real thing.

that whole thing where the Saints played like arse in the first quarter throughout almost the whole season set up a lot of unfavorable game scripts.

Take the 49ers game for example.

They were in that game, Rattler threw 3 TD's but only had 207 yards on 34 attempts to show for it. Kamara almost got to 100 yards rushing with 99.

But that was also when the 49ers still had all their guys healthy on defense, I think. There at the end of the game Rattler had no chance and their ends met at the QB like maybe twice on that last Saints drive?

The Seattle game was a no contest and so was the Rams game. I guess the fact they had the 49ers and Cardinals at home they played them a lot closer but no Brock Purdy at QB in the game they played us. And Mac Jones also played really well, and I think that was well before the Saints defense settled in and started playing better.

I bring up the NFC West because I think it's fair to say that's who the rest of the conference is probably chasing.

The idea of picking another O-line guy in the Top 10 pisses me off tremendously. I'd almost rather try for at least one starter in free agency. I don't think it's just a Saints problem with O-line development. But since the Saints have used a lot of top picks on their line it's magnified.

just like we give crap to Loomis, he most certainly should get credit for that trade.

Tanner koziol- tight end from Houston. Check him out.

He seems very reliable. You don't see him drop the ball really.

That's a lot of TDs over the years in college

screams big time redzone threat.

Seems to check out on the durability angle which is so huge.

I'm tired of seeing so many of the Saints skill guys unable to finish the season.

I'd still say Stowers is my favorite TE prospect at the moment, but I haven't looked at them all and probably won't get around to it to be honest.

Stowers ran a lot out of the slot which isn't unusual, but Vandy was a run heavy team, and he still had 85 targets.

12.4 YPC

also, a converted TE he was recruited as a QB out of high school which is intresting.
I see where you're coming from but that's still taking a big leap of faith on Estime

We need a running back who can make a difference in the passing game too. Kamara once was that guy but he's gotten older. It happens to everybody.
Estime doesn't have all that much of a sample size though. No?

How many games did he even play in for the Saints last year? Three or four?
I guess you didn't care for the example I used

LMFAO
I would probably feel better about picking Love if there were already more pieces in place on offense.

Like for example, what the Lions did when they drafted Gibbs.

The defense finished pretty strong and was playing pretty well there at the end of the season. If you can add the best available piece to the front seven I would probably rather go in that direction.

And I don't have anything against Love.

If we picked him great well then that's that.

i Only watch CFB and the NFL for real.

Some college basketball.

But the NBA is truly dogshit compared to what I grew up watching.

I'm really liking TE's Eli Stowers and Sam Rousch. I know that may not necessarily be a serious need, But I'd love either of picks if they happened.

I would agree that he's not like the worst quarterback they've ever had or anything, but not long after Dennis Allen got fired he started to really rub me the wrong way.

It was after the Saints beat the Falcons and it had been a week since Allen had been fired.

He gave an interview after the game on the field and said something along the lines of you know. It's a shame that DA isn't here anymore seeing how he built all of this or something to that effect.

It was just an awkward moment like that's how far the standard has fallen. But this guy thinks it's okay what they have going on here. It's like hello, You just snapped a six or seven game losing streak or whatever it was at the time.

I was talking about Carr there
quote:

Carr in the right situation is probably better than Darnold.

That's probably a reach.

I guess you forgot this pissant Carr paid homage to Allen after he was fired,

Carr is wishy-washy

He can be a pretty good passer if he's left unscathed but once he gets rattled it's over with

I just don't see him being able to pull a team over the top. But that's just me I guess.

Carr in the right situation is probably better than Darnold.

Darnold also went 13-3 with the Vikings albeit in an early exit in the playoffs.

When did Carr ever do that ?

I saw where Shough was up on a float having fun and throwing to the crowd.

And we never saw Carr do anything at all like that while he was with the Saints.

We've seen Brees and Jameis both out there during Mardi Gras being a part of the fun.

I read somewhere that he was working out and throwing. Seems legit just not going to a team going nowhere.

I don't think Carr has earned that kind of a right to choose a contender, but it doesn't matter what I think.

But since Sam Darnold just won a Super Bowl, all of a sudden, the narrative starts to change. I think this past season was an outlier. That's not a bad thing because each season surely isn't the same. But just the narrative that maybe you don't have to have the best of the best at QB, that talk will ramp up during the offseason I imagine.
