This is exactly my thought on it because we don't have the coaching staff to get the most out of Carr. You should've just stuck with Dalton while rebuilding your cap situation. Now you're looking at potentially a 5 year rebuild period or longer especially if this doesn't work out.

Saints can get better quickly with Carr and if Thomas is retained (and actually plays).

Then you look at the draft and they are in a decent position to fill needs.

Best OG or DT available at #29. Fill the other void in the 2nd. DE with the 3rd. Then we should have a pair of 3rd’s as compensation for Williams and Armstead. Use those for a RB and Safety.

What's the alternative? Rebuilds can take anywhere from 5 years if you're lucky to 20 years if you're not. Why not take the chance with an elite defense to be a playoff team in a really bad division and a down NFC? It makes no sense (at this point in time) to do a full rebuild with the division and conference essentially open.

We bought a Carr

Hopefully it’s a Lexus and not a Ford

And again kick the can down the road for a full rebuild on top of no QB?

We should've got rid of any players with value now except 1st contract young players, go as much draft capital as possible, move towards a future QB, then rebuild the cap situation. Now you get no value out of what you have on your roster for draft capital and you're going nowhere anyway. This is all going to collapse on our head at once now just as it was a problem this past season. It's only going to get worse.

Wasn't like Carr lacked talent around him. He's not a good QB and he needs a QB whisperer to be competent which does anyone think our OC or the retard HC can do? Should've expected this FO not have the balls to realize what needed to be done. Get your brown paper bags out for the next decade.

2 reasons Saints made this deal

1- Gave up no draft capital or assets

2- still in win now mentality. They know that Carolina Falcons and Tampa need starting QB’s. With Carr, as we speak, we have best QB in the South. Should win conference now!

3. Another reason to troll the Falcons...Carr's birthday is March 28th. (3 / 28)

What don’t people understand about Thomas having a $60 million dollar cap hit if we keep him. $60 million dollars people! He’s gone as gone gets.

As a saints' fan, I would think you should understand restructures more than most

How many times has his contract already been touched? Why would we give a guy an extension when he hasn’t played in 3 years? Cmon be real.

You play in a shite division which means he could potentially be good enough to win it but then what? 1 and done every year?

If this team had Carr last year, I believe they could beat Dallas in the WC. If they do, they would have had SF in the 2nd round. As long as he outperforms Purdy, this team gets beat by Philly.

Of course, as fans we still want championships, but it's not a 1 and done deal w/ how weak the NFC currently is. Offseason still needs to play out, and things could change fast; but there are not many elite QBs coming from the AFC to NFC (maybe Lamar?). Houston & Indy most likely end up with the top 2 QBs in this draft (at least 2 of the top 3), which would leave Carolina & LV sitting there for the 3rd. So, at least one more season where you are fighting only a few teams for a chance to go to the SB.

Juwan Johnson is your starting TE. That is if they can bring him back which I doubt happens unless they tag him with a 2nd round tender. Someone is going to give him a decent deal. Same with Kaden Elliss.

I doubt this is going to happen.

I think it will be around 35 a year.

If we don't get a starting caliber rb in FA I could see a earlier pic being used.

this draft is so stacked we will take a RB in the 3rd or 4th that will have a 2nd round grade.
