They don't have to move him if they don't want to. They aren't an apron team and they're better with him than they are without.
I think their focus right now is Garland. To either try to convince Garland and his team to buy in or to look for a deal.
With Mitchell signed, they are pretty much sitting pretty.

War chest is aptly considered to be amassed, draft capital. Players are not part of the customary consideration regarding the same.

Who fricking cares about this semantics argument?

I'm not saying a trade is imminent, just that the leak seems odd, and leaks at this time of the year are designed to do one thing, change the price of a trade.
I'm curious if the combination of the Pels seeming to be sitting on their hands at center and Lauri holding up the BI trade market suggest we have something like a Kessler deal locked down.

I'll go even further than that, who cares which one of us pelitards is right? We come here for strength and smartness in numbers. None of us can read everything or look at all that news from every angle. We crowd source that to each other to make us all smarter. So stop trying to "win" Pels Talk.

Right, I think some people just assume that we are doing nothing if a deal hasn't been made yet. They probably have a few different scenarios lined up and those are contingent upon other things happening first.

Hey man, I prefer Pelitism.
Apologies for arguing the semantics of war chest.
We have the assets to do just about anything we want. That's it. Because of that we are able to even keep some of our drap capitol or build onto it.

Yup. And now maybe Griff is trying to hit the homerun in going after Lauri. Like Kessler is there but imagine adding Lauri with Kessler.

So latest rumors have us as a new addition to the Lauri Markannen race. He is NOT a center. I don’t care how position less people will try to allude the NBA into being.
So with that said, I have to ask. Would you be willing to trade Trey Murphy(along with BI) in order to get Lauri and have him start with Murray, Herb and Zion? Probably with Kessler coming back as well. I don’t really see the benefit of paying $50+ million with Lauri instead of Trey and a smaller deal. But am curious on the tolerance or lack thereof.

I would give up Herb before Trey.
Also I’m totally ok passing on Lauri if we can get Kessler for cheaper.

I agree with this, but at the same time I think a non traditional center is the answer going forward. What else do you add to:
Murray/Herb/Trey/Zion/?

Absolutely not. I don't think replacing Trey with Lauri changes things much other than you've just blown your wad to be able to add that 5th piece. Lauri becoming that imperfect fitting 5th guy is one thing, him becoming the new 4th without much left to take a big swing at a 5th would be a bad plan. Not to mention the optics of that kind of overpay for Lauri when you could have had him for Lonzo back in the day.

Hes 7’0 and 240. Averages 23 and 8. Just cause he shoots 3s, it doesn’t negate his ability to play center.

If Utah is trading Lauri, i can guarantee you they don't want BI back.
They'd want Trey.
Not saying we can't get Lauri using BI, but he wouldn't be going to Utah.

Absolutely not, Lauri and Trey are a bit of a redundancy, not saying that as a bad thing, but we also need the defense that Herb brings.

On the other hand can you imagine a lineup of Zion, Trey, Lauri, Hawkins and CJ. Man that shite would be fun.
