Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding is expecting a wild atmosphere in Oxford on Saturday when Lane Kiffin returns to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium as LSU's head coach.

But with emotions expected to be high surrounding Kiffin's return, Golding had a message for Rebel fans during his Monday press conference.

Golding encouraged fans to be early, loud, and make things difficult for LSU, but also stressed that they shouldn't lose the respect and hospitality that Oxford has become known for.

“There’s a competitive part of everybody, right, that obviously we’re going to create a really, really good environment, like they always have, for a top-10 matchup,” Golding said.

“But I think at the end of it, there’s still a respect piece, and this place has always been known to have really, really good people.

“And so let’s not lose that over a game, over a person, or anything else like that.”

Golding added that there's nothing wrong with fans getting caught up in the moment and creating a hostile environment for LSU, as long as they don't cross that line.

“Be an unbelievable fan and provide an unbelievable atmosphere for our players and really hard to play in for their players,” Golding said. “But at the end of the day, don’t lose what we’ve created and what they’ve created for so long.”

Saturday will mark Kiffin's first trip back to Oxford since leaving Ole Miss for LSU.

Our fan base certainly isn’t made up of angels when it comes to heated conference rivalries.

Worst fan experience of my life last year. “Why did KL kill himself” “Does BK have guilt for murder”. 8 year olds giving me the finger as parents laughed…

Lies. Only place I went as part of TGBFTL where fans were actually spitting on us after the halftime show when we were heading back to out seats. They havent ever had any sort of respect.
