The Orlando Magic and small forward Franz Wagner have agreed to a 5-year, $224 million maximum contract extension
Maybe I'm alone on this board in this opinion, but I think that Franz is worth every penny.

What would a Spurs deal look like for everyone? Keldon Johnson and Zach Collins along with those 2 Atlanta picks and our 2nds back? We could maybe then flip the Hawks picks back to them and try to get them to include another asset like Okongwu in the Murray deal and give back the Lakers and 27 pick? Just trying to think of different scenarios Griff maybe discussing with other teams
I’d say turn around and package the 2 1st from SA with two of the Pels own 1st in a deal to Utah to get Lauri. Four first total would beat the Warriors reported offer.
If they’d take Keldon Johnson as well and throw on Kessler do that.

Yall need to get off this train. Griff ain’t trading all that for Lauri when he can’t discuss an extension with him until he becomes a free agent. Not only that but if Griff is not willing to pay Ingram 50+ million a year he damn sure won’t pay Lauri 50 a year

Didn't he head to the bench this year on a bad team?
I think he just didn’t fit well with Wemby, he still played 30 mpg and his numbers still looked good, so I don’t know why his value would have fell. Even if we could get Barnes and 4-6 2nds for him, still worth flipping him

I kinda think of Keldon as a "decent rotational player" and wouldn't mind him on our team, but someone in that category is worth something like $12 million, not $19 million. He's overpaid.

Not sure if he’s worth it currently, but teams always throw max deals at guys they think have high potential on rookie contract extensions. The 3rd contract is where the haggling starts

I like Franz but he doesn’t shoot the 3 well at all. He’s similar to BI except he attacks the rim much more. I guess they are saying they believe his shot will come around

Because you say so? He was legt 1 of 3 free agents we were interested in?
Just because you say we are interested in him, doesn’t make it so.
Show me one shred of credible evidence that we might be interested in him.
It makes no sense for us to be interested in him.
And I never said I didn’t like Tyus Jones. He’s a good player, and I have zero interest in him this offseason.

If tweet fails to load, click here. The only new Pels nugget here is they have had interest in Malik Beasley. I wonder if Griff is trying to force Willie to play shooters or they might lose some in a trade.

Beasley doesn't even make sense based on the construction of the team. Sounds far out there.

Beasley makes sense if Hawkins gets traded

I don’t see why Spurs would want to
give that up for BI. Sochan for Dyson undoes a wrong from the ‘22 draft.
Sochan great on D, better rebounder, much higher offensive ceiling than Dyson. Would love to get him.

Hawk will be moved in a deal for Kessler

That’s what I’m afraid of. I really like Hawkins. He’s got an insanely quick trigger and no fear. But considering the Pels’ needs, it’s hard to deny that Kessler + Beasley is better than Hawkins and just about any other available center.

Very interesting because Beasley is a pretty bad defender.

I would piss my pants from happiness if the Polish guy played for the Pels !

I'll be pissed if we trade Hawkins. We're gonna need him to be able to move off CJ in a year or two. I'd rather dump a 1st for Kessler than Hawkins.

Today is the day that free agency is official. Can’t wait to see what happens at 11.
Posted on 7/6/24 at 6:48 am to RUFshreve
I like Hawkins but shoot first, no defense guys aren’t hard to find. Beasley still sitting out there, Buddy could’ve been had on a 2 for 21 etc. if you can use Hawkins to get better, go do it
