I said if they had to unload Barnes (so he would not be remaining). I cannot see the Pels interested in Lyles, Duarte and Huerter unless they throw in Carter and 3-4 1st rounders.

Chicago won’t take Barnes because they don’t want any long term salary, so Kings would have to send expirings.

No, but Barnes has value to other teams that would take him on cheaply.

I don't think we ever wanted anyone besides Barnes. Maybe Carter but with what minutes? We already need minutes for Hawk. The reason its taking so long is because teams are trying to add in assets elsewhere.

Yeah no.

Chicago fans are hanging their hopes on getting him from Brooklyn to get out from LaVine’s deal.

That shows how much worth Simmons has. And he is a walking infirmary due to his back.

Simons* nevermind I forgot how much he made.

I really don't want Ayton lol

Not becauae I don't think we can do worse but because that means we legit ran out of options.

Those Mil picks do look tempting from POR tho...

POR: BI

Pels: Ayton + 29' 1st via MIL + 30' swap via MIL + 31' 1st via POR

If a team can convince themselves they can get BI to shoot 6-8 3’s a game around a 38% clip, along with his midrange prowess and his expanded playmaking, they would be stupid to not be interested. BI will require a haul or he won’t be moved, we aren’t giving him away like many have implied. BI is better than Markkenan by himself

I’m not sure BI is a fit in Portland

They want Scoot and Shaedon to be the main characters. Jerami Grant is also over there on a near max.

Ayton actually had a really strong last 1-2 months of the season (opposite of Ingram)

I think they are pretty much even in a trade if anything. I doubt Portland would throw us 3 future Bucks picks and Ayton for the right to max out BI and have him take away developmental opportunities from Scoot and Shaedon.

With BI, it's all about what he's willing to conceed to make an extension happen for his next team. That's what makes or breaks his value.

Not arguing BI is worth the max on this team but look at the extensions being given out around the league. Franz Wagner just got $45M annually. BI is way better than Wagner could ever hope to be. Tatum just got $62M a year. I don’t think BI should take a discount

It is a matter of finding someone to pay him.

Ain’t going to be us because the fit is wrong.

Most other teams that could pay him have someone already, are on the wrong timeline, or don’t have the assets to get him,

What would a Spurs deal look like for everyone?

Keldon Johnson and Zach Collins along with those 2 Atlanta picks and our 2nds back?

We could maybe then flip the Hawks picks back to them and try to get them to include another asset like Okongwu in the Murray deal and give back the Lakers and 27 pick?

Just trying to think of different scenarios Griff maybe discussing with other teams

I was thinking about Zach as a target last night (but couldn’t figure out how we would get him) and today the Spurs are rumored to have BI interest. So I guess it’s more plausible now.

I think Zach is definitely backup big/spot starter worthy until Missi is ready (could be ready immediately or never technically). I haven’t given much thought to a Spurs package on the whole, but they do have interesting pieces like Branham, Sochan, Keldon, and some others. Vassell is also solid, but he might make too much money to bring back in a deal.

If we really don’t believe in BI, sending him to be a Trojan horse and derail either Houston or SA, would be nice. It could also backfire immensely lol.

I spitballed the idea of Collins, Sochan, picks, and a sizable TPE earlier

That would give us a backup center, a backup 4 with potential, and the ability to trade for a starting center.

A Spurs trade is not a bad scenario where we get Hawks picks and either keep them or get our picks back from them.

- The Spurs don't give up anyone important long term and get to time shift, which they should do because Wemby looks ready to dominate the league.
- They have a fairly clean long term cap sheet so they can overpay Ingram without worrying about it.
- In the end they basically trade Murray for Ingram with Atlanta as a weird middle man.

I would definitely think long and hard about taking Johnson, but I would ask around the league to gauge his value first. I think he’s better than Kuzma and Washington wants two firsts for Kuzma, we could maybe flip him to someone like Sacramento for Barnes and a couple picks also to add even more to the stable of picks.

I think Barnes would be a better fit for this roster than Keldon anyway.

Not sure Keldon is better than Kuzma, or at least viewed that way. Didn't he head to the bench this year on a bad team? At $19 million, I would guess he is viewed as a neutral asset.

But also, LOL. Kuzma is a prototypical ball hog who dominates the offense and plays zero defense. On teams that are actually good, the only role that a guy like him can play is the "sparkplug off the bench" role.

Ain't no team in the league dumb enough to give up two 1sts for him.
