Detroit was dumb to sign Tobias Harris to that contract. I would've been a filler to get draft picks from these teams.

Are the Kings still trying to get both BI and DeRozan?
If so, make it a four way sending back Barnes, Zach Collins, and picks. Possibly accept a small player from Chicago so they take Huerter if there is one that meets our needs or is needed for salary purposes.

Regardless if Kings get DeRozan, Griff loses some serious leverage here. This isn’t looking like just a smoke screen anymore.

Problem still becomes getting a starting center and a backup 4.
Unless we expand the trade with the Hawks to get a center, which requires BI, the options of getting one for the start of the season are dropping heavily. Unless we want to chance placing a waiver on Paul Reed as a stopgap.

You wonder if Griff will regret not pulling the trigger on a BI deal earlier on. Patience won out for Griff on the Dejounte deal but the roster is a mess if they dont trade BI before the season.

What leverage? Ingram was always plan D, E, or F for the few teams that were interested.

Im not sure about that. I think Kings probably preferred Ingram over Derozan. I’m sure they want both but they get Derozan they wont be pressed to get Ingram. They might just wait him out.

Why do that? Just play on your current deal and go into free agency and pick your next suitor. Someone will have money next year and pay him.
