Need to stop handing out money to illegals and lazy fricks
This is a tired old lie that keeps getting repeated.
Food stamps, Medicaid, section 8 housing and the like are CORPORATE SUBSIDIES under the guise of helping the poor (which obviously, all poor people are poor because they are bad lazy people).
When a dollar gets issued in food stamps, the person it is issued to is merely a pass through for that dollar eventually winding up in the pockets of Wal Mart, Tyson Chicken or some other corporation.
And who staffs those companies? Go to any chicken plucking plant and who do you find working there? When you get hired at Wal Mart they give you instructions on how to get on government programs, which basically subsidize their labor model.

Europe doesn’t want a developmental league
So last Saturday I am at a Mexican restaurant and I notice the “Frankfurt Galaxy” playing the Munich Ravens. The QB has Calzada on his jersey. Zack? Nah, I think, this must be an old replay up until the next kickoff which is the new NFL version.
Sure enough - they have a league going

You can't take off, run red lights, and then physically strike a LEO. Like DUI and DV, that kind of shite is an automatic arrest imo.
Your description makes it seem like she was fleeing from the cops, recklessly speeding through red lights and then belted the guy with a right cross.
Again, the woman was clearly in distress - be it emotional or mental. Regardless of whether it was caused by overreaction, she seemed to genuinely be in fear that her husband might be in peril. She was frantically trying to get help.
I know cops deal with a lot of BS. But what I saw in this case, instead of trying to calm her down and reassure her they were trying to help, they agitated the situation.

She hit a cop You're going to jail
Yeah, I saw the “hit” at the 3:30 mark. I hope that poor cop didn’t need to have his arm in a cast for too long, or need therapy for PTSD.
Eh….i haven’t watched every second of the video…but from the part I’ve seen, it appears that the woman was genuinely concerned about her husband. She was hysterical and possibly having a mental health incident on top of the concern. She may well be crazy or just simply entitled.
Cops could have used a lot more discretion, empathy and kindness in this situation, IMO.

Why do so many government workers rip us taxpayers off?
You post the article, but did you read it?
quote:
The payout came during a record-setting year for overtime among the city’s police officers and sheriff’s deputies. Sheriff’s office and PD officials state that the record-setting work done after-hours is a result of diminishing staffing. Sheriff’s office responsibilities, including in courthouses and hospitals, have also increased.
quote:
Many deputies and staff members volunteer for overtime to maintain operations, but mandatory overtime remains necessary, a sheriff’s office spokesperson told the Chronicle. Sheriff Paul Miyamoto has reduced mandatory overtime drafts to two days per week in an effort to improve morale, and the agency has temporarily assigned recruits to administrative duties to help curb overtime costs.
This is the problem with the extremist mindset (not directing at OP, but society in general). Yes, there are many stories that have come out about officers padding their OT, and sometimes committing outright fraud while working seconds jobs while still on the clock.
That doesn’t mean that departments aren’t underfunded. And while obviously the savings of cutting waste/fraud/abuse theoretically help the funding issue, the most often don’t completely solve them. Often times the
cleanup focuses on “Pennywise/Pound Foolish” solutions.
The same argument gets made with schools. I especially love the “why should I pay property tax to fund the schools cause…” arguments.
As a society, we’ve decided there are things that are better done collectively. The price we pay for our civilized society is through taxes. Most would agree that everyone should be taxed “fairly” but it’s hard for a lot of people to
say exactly what that means.

Yearly raises are a joke. The last 2 years my raise has offset rising insurance costs. Making the same take home I was before 2 full yearly raises.
My father often tells me this story about working for Exxon in the late 60s early 70s. If you “only” got a ten percent raise, it meant the company was trying to get rid of you.
Things have definitely not gotten better for the working middle class in the last 60 years. The normalization of the 3-4% raise and 401k instead of pensions were unilaterally forced on us.

The auto ejection for targeting has to go Should be classified as a personal foul where it takes 2 infractions to get tossed. Whit was talking ab this recently and I completely agree with him there.
I’d also say add an intentional vs unintentional version of it, with intentional being the immediate ejection.
My only fear is that it would put even more subjectivity in the hands of the refs and replay officials, and we know who it will ultimately benefit.

I don't think she should have been suspended another game because of the foul.
She fricking absolutely should have been disciplined for the "white privilege" tweet. But the commissioner has been silent on that.
Toronto's coach got a 1 game suspension for referring to Angel Reese as a "protected species".
The coach profusely apologized and insisted that she meant no harm. Carrington throws out "white privilege"....and nothing.

Wealthy people still exist. The complaint is that the middle class is dying, not that no one has any money anywhere. There is quickly becoming only 2 classes: The wealthy and the poor. The American dream where you can work a normal 9-5 and get to a point where you don't want for money is all but gone. Once upon a time, a blue collar factory worker could own a house, a car, and support a family of 4 without his wife working. The "middle class" now has both parents working full time and are still pay check to pay check with little to no ability to save for the future.
We just need to give the “job creators” more tax breaks!!!
