Hush your mouth. Eddie is a fun movie to see every ten years or so.
Now do CEOs and their lavish salaries, bonuses, golden parachutes, etc while laying off 1000s of employees.
No doubt, there are problems with corruption in unions and it’s wild for their officials to spend money like that. But it doesn’t negate the need for worker unity and collective bargaining in a capitalist society.

My state is already subject to religious extremism. I can buy a six pack of beer in the morning six days a week, but for some reason cannot do so on one.

It’s theater to prove his bonafides for MAGAts, nothing more.

Where have I vacillated? I believe that Mangione, just like the Insurance Companies and for that matter the burglar, should be held accountable by society through our laws and court system.

no matter how mad you are at the insurance industry it doesn't give you the right to kill someone
As civilized people, I think we all agree on this.
But I think that there is validity to the idea that insurance companies, starting with CEOs and Boards, regularly make decisions that result in pain and suffering, and ultimately life or death, with few if any repercussions. No, they’re not walking up in a ski mask and summarily executing someone - but is what they do really any less vile because it’s done via board meetings and a “policy decision”?
To be clear, I in no way condone what Mangione did. But I do think it’s funny that a lot of folks who would celebrate a burglar getting shot and killed act completely appalled in this situation.
Meh…i’ve seen better looking foul balls hitting chicks in the quad.

A shot like that can be easily set up by a skilled or knowledgeable pool player, and then all she has to do is hit it.
re: I’m having trouble justifying my stance against the death penalty…

I believe there are cases where the death penalty is not only “justified”, but necessary.
But I also am skeptical of government prosecutors, pseudoscience and the unevenness in how it’s applied.

Great movie that has a lot of historical accuracy considering the time it was made. It follows the book very well.

Who has been listening? Want 37 seed to shock the world and string together 13 wins?
No, the 37th seed would be equivalent to a 10 seed.
Expansion to 96 would only add one more game to the number needed (6 instead of 7). Same situation as the current “first four” games.

Yeah, I’m afraid most folks don’t see the parallel.
re: NCAA Tournament expected to increase to 76 teams
Posted by lsusa on 4/3/26 at 9:34 pm to hawgfaninc
I’ve been saying for years it should go to 96 teams while merging with the NIT.
Each of the 32 conferences get a regular season and tournament champion in. Then there are 32 at large teams.
The conference tournament champs are seeded 1-32 and get a first round bye.
The conference regular season champs (or runner up if RSC wins tournament) are seeded 33-64 for the first round.
The at large teams are seeded 65-96
For the first round.
Teams that lose in the first or second round go to the NIT. The NCAA tournament plays out as regular other than the added first round games.
