Nahhh, Chicago would have to pony up a pick in that scenario because Barnes has positive value, Vuc is at best neutral value

Vucevic

Sucks, I’m convinced anyone who brings him up is trolling

ETA: Barnes is an actual good backup to Zion, I would be pissed if we sent him out for trash arse Vucevic

I’m happy getting a pick to take on Vuc’s contract.

Chicago can always flip Barnes to a contender for value before the deadline. I don’t think they can do anything with Lavine until his value can get rehabbed this season, but he has to stay healthy.

Maybe you can move Vuc and Huerter….maybe CJ instead…along with assets you get from moving Brandon to get someone like Towns if he becomes available.

Id take Vuc, if the alternative is not having any centers tbh.

I would love to hear how you believe that Vucevic is a "negative" contract, but somehow Ingram is worth 3+ 1st round picks..

To me this is championship build type stuff. You keep some picks out there, but you fill the team with role players that fit with your star talent.

I don’t know what BI’s value has to do with the price of tea in China, but Vucevic is a stretch big who can’t shoot, and also is an arse defender. If we wanted a center like that we’d have kept JV.

I don’t think you will see any bulls fan that are happy that Vucevic is still on their team. He’s been a net negative on the court for them every season.

But Vucevic shot 40% from 3 that one year.

At 2/41.5mil; I'd gladly take him back for a first if it means we're also getting Kessler & Barnes. That rounds out the team.

Guards: Murray, Jones, McCollum, Hawkins, Alvarado
Forwards: Williamson, Murphy, Barnes
Centers: Kessler, Vucevic, Missi

Top 11 looks solid enough for the year. Shrink it down come playoff time to these 8:

Guards: Murray, Jones, McCollum
Forwards: Williamson, Murphy, Barnes
Centers: Kessler, Vucevic

Agreed. I would still make just one more move to maximize this group but I shall not type it out lol.

Barnes + WCJ need to be moved a this point so I very much hope that's how we spread BI's cap. Kessler is the target that just makes sense with our cap situation, fit, and timeline.

I’d much rather have WCJ. Which is ironic because the Magic got WCJ in the dumbass trade that they had with Chicago when they sent Vucci mayne over there.

ETA: to be clear, the Bulls were the dumbasses in that trade

I'd rather WCJ too. I think he actually would be really good for us. I'd like to see something like this:

Pels get: WCJ, Barnes, Paul Reed, firsts from Sac

Sacramento gets: Ingram

Orlando gets: Huerter

Philly gets: seconds from Orlando and Nola

Hopefully eventually convince CJ to come off the Bench

PG: Murray, Jose
SG: Herb, CJ
SF: Murphy, Barnes (Playoff time have Herb play some of these backup minutes)
PF: Zion, Reed
C: WCJ, Reed

Throw in a little Hawk and Missi in the regular season to help them develop some but I think this team could be good and could be poised to make even bigger moves in the future with more picks and next year Barnes' and CJ's contracts would be big expirings.

I think Barnes will see a lot of time as the backup 4 if the Pels were to trade for him. Especially in this hypothetical with how often WCJ gets inured. I love WCJ but feel more comfortable with him on the bench and adding another starting 5, which is of course easier said than done.

Barnes has trouble guarding 3s now. Though I’m warming up to the idea of him being a backup 4 and Zion injury insurance

In the regular season I would agree. But this year Barnes was actually not very good. I think come playoffs he would probably not play very many minutes other than injuries. But in the regular season hes a good vet to put out there who knows how to play and could space the floor pretty well at the 4. Although maybe this year was just a fluke cause his advanced stats show he was bad this year but was good the year before.

I'm also just really high on Reed and think that he would be an excellent back up at both the 4 and 5.

Putting Barnes at the three was more just wanting to clear room for Reed to play more off the bench and the fact that most of our other bench players are guards or bigs. But while I am very high on Reed I might have been too down on Barnes. I actually just looked at 82games and it does seem like he played most of his time at the 3 and was actually pretty good there.

You are also talking about these players shifting to rotational role player roles. They would probably still excel at that instead of having to be a starter that is heavily depended on against the other teams best players.

He had a down year and only shot 30%. He's a career 34-35% guy. That's good for a Center. He doesn't miss games. Plays big minutes. Put up solid numbers. Is a passable defender..

I think he'd be good here. It's not a horrible contract and short. He'd be the 4th-5th option here. Good mentor for our new draftee. He's starting to look better and better as the pickings get slim..

Depending on his contract I'd take him off the bulls hands for a player or a 2nd or 2.

People act like he is horrible.

He has 1 yr at 20 or 2 for 40.

Just sucks Griffin didn't think ahead about center. If he knew he wasn't re-signing Val why didn't he trade for gafford.

Edit: I honestly just downvoted myself.

Vucevic has averaged 18/11 for the last 4 yrs so I thought he can't be that bad.
