What can Charlotte reasonably offer us?

Bertans’ expiring and picks are a given, as they need to salary match. Outside of that, what pieces would they give up?

Mark Williams would be the only piece that fits personally….unless it’s a sign and trade for Bridges.

I don’t think they can send us a first till 2027 though….

They owe a lottery protected first to SAS. Getting swap rights or the lottery side of the protections would allow it to convey

Edit - it converts to seconds if it doesn’t convey this year, hence why we could get a lottery pick out of it

From the Spurs’ side, how viable is Zach Collins as a second big?

I figure a spitball trade would be something like Collins, Sochan, picks, which becomes a TPE as well.

Not a preferred return but it allows us to take someone like WCJ into space for picks.

Yeah, Charlotte is kind of thin at center to send back someone we would want like Mark Williams.

I think we are going to want BI to net a starting center, 1-2 backups, and 2 good picks that are lightly protected. Getting say Kessler and WCJ would cost 2 1sts total. 2 1sts for Kessler, get some 2nds as change to use on WCJ. So you need to get around 4 1sts for BI, 2 of which are only lightly protected and the Pels would keep.

BI/Dyson/Nance/Lakers 1st/Pels 1st
for
Murray/Kessler/WCJ/2 top 4 protected future picks from Charlotte would be a return I think most of us would like.

Can Griff pull it off is the question. He's already done the hard part in getting a quarter back with Murray.

Personally I don't care about Centers shooting volume 3s. It's a nice skillset to have, but not my main consideration for who I want.
Then what is your consideration that could possibly include Vuc? It certainly cannot be defense or rim protection. Is it a hearbeat?

My guess is that Chicago is offering a pick with him.

Which won’t convey for several seasons because they still owe one to SAS for DeRozan.

It's weird that a talking point gets nuked so easily. There are dozens (and dozens) of posts about Carter JR. Why is this different? By all measures Vucevic is a superior player, more durable and would be cheaper to obtain. Why is it taboo to discuss?
IN what measures is he a superior player? He certainly is more durable, that is true. He is much older and costs more than double the salary over the next 2 seasons as WCJ.

Speaking of Chicago, Dereon Seabron is on the Bulls Summer League roster. I guess he's not getting another 2 way from the Pels.

Interesting. Not disappointed though. He never looked like an NBA player.

The Spurs and Hornets are among teams showing interest in Brandon Ingram, per @AmicoHoops “Sources have told Hoops Wire that the San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets have emerged as potential Ingram suitors, as have the Atlanta Hawks, who will soon officially move guard Dejounte Murray to New Orleans. Perhaps that trade could be expanded if the Hawks are truly that interested in Ingram.”
Sounds like a Pels leak for leverage against Kings. Cannot imagine Hawks really interested if tehy did not push for him in Murray deal.

Pipedream. I hope you are right. But I don't see that happening.

Grant Williams-
Mark Williams-
Bertans- (free agent) would be S&T
Miles Bridges- (free agent) most likely resign or S&T
Nic Richards-
Picks

We can do this and still have the full (37mil) BI salary to use in S&T theoretically.

Miles Bridges is also a free agent. They love Mark Williams so would be surprised if hes included. I would say mire Nic Richards.

It depends on what Kessler costs. Ainge will want another teams picks knowing we will be good. Hopefully its just (1). If its (2) then we need to hold on to the better SAC pick and trade 1-2 of our upcoming picks.

Worst case scenario:
BI for (3) 1sts from Sac.
Kessler for (2) 1st.

Meaning we technically get back (1) pick for BI.

I'd be ok with that ONLY if its a Pels 25' + 27' going out and we keep say the Sac 27' + 29' + 31'

That way we get Kessler + (1) pick but technically have (2) way better picks to work with.

Yeah I don't 100% like it either.

That value is closer to:

BI for Kessler + (1) 1st + (2) swaps.

Like I said I hope Kessler + (2) 1st is the minimum package.

I would gladly take a S&T of Miles Bridges over just about anything the Kings could give.
I think the Hornets have been quietly making their offers to us for BI, as they have been wanting him, and I’d bet BI would like to go back home so they feel confident they will extend him.

Get back Bridges, Nick Richards and picks, and then go give Ainge 2 firsts for Kessler.
