The call on the field, which is subjective to an official’s ruling, was that it was a fumble. But of course, the QB didn’t intend to fumble, so it was later ruled an incomplete pass.
The NFL rules committee can’t get out of their own way with some of these rule determinations…
They should have just left the ruling on the field as is, but since they always have to over complicate reviews….they went by the letter of their rule(which should not have been in place originally).
It was a complete clusterfrick and they know it. The only way to save face is to just refer to the poorly planned rule they had.

He then completed a perfect spiral backwards…it wasn’t an out of control pass attempt, he threw the ball backwards. His arm still went forwards, just in the opposite direction….which in any case is a lateral.

His arm angle threw the ball backwards. It wasn’t like the ball uncontrollably flew backwards after he was hit. It was a clear spiral that left his hand after the hit, and his arm angle was throwing the pass backwards.

I’m sure that’s what they told teams that asked during the draft. So far, they haven’t been said to be actively shopping him though.
To be fair, Jake Madison did say he believes TM3 will be traded this offseason. What he goes for will give us more of an idea about where the team future is headed towards.

They have a big trade exception from the Randle trade, but it’s not enough to absorb Lamello.

Also, we need those 2nds to potentially move off of Poole and Murray’s contracts.
We are dangerously close to the tax line with this trade…I’m assuming we are going to make a couple more moves to help shed some salary for picks.

While I would agree for this year. Lebron is what is holding back the Lakers with Luka. I would prefer to build around Luka(sans Lebron), than I would Flagg. The Lakers can make some pretty decent upgrades once Lebron is out.
