If you want to try and get excited, read this article and then also consider our pace.

Correct Bunchy, which why I question the idea of impact against Clark or Rondo and more so with a guy like Frank Jackson...we need wing help and Jackson could help us facilitate a trade to get it...

I think you're being dramatic. He's a decent ball handler, good size and athleticism, not a bad defender when he's locked in. He still can't shoot but he was shooting the best he ever did over 40+ games in Orlando before the trade. He's a backup point guard. He'll need to bring the ball up and pass to shooters.

If he's playing 30 minutes a night, we're probably screwed, but for backup minutes, he'll be fine.

Really hope they’re after Simmons and not Harkless. Idk why but I am not a fan of Harkless at all...

Either/or...Harkless just checks a lot boxes for me the more I think about him and I think the Blazers are in a place where they want to shed some salary

Not a bad bench option. Allows Moore to actually play his 26-28 mpg instead of 32+.

Allows us to groom Jackson slowly as well.

Doesn't rule out Clark's return either.

Yeah. Again he's not a great player and was terrible in Phoenix.

But he has the tools we need. Someone that can effectively handle the ball and give us a few minutes a game where the system doesn't fall apart. That's it. And one must assume again this is a cheap deal.

If we can bring back Rondo, Boogie and Clark, trade for a pulse at 3, and get a backup 4th big, you have to feel pretty good.

I wanted us to trade for Payton at last season's deadline. He's one of the 1st round picks we traded to get Holiday.

The funny thing is in this thread a lot of people are complaining about him coming here on a cheap deal to be the 3rd or 4th guard, when last year before Rondo he was one of the names being tossed around as a person to pursue. He won’t help us unthrone GSW, but on those late season back to backs it’ll be nice to give Rondo, Jrue, and Moore 5 less minutes.

That was before he was dreadful with the Suns.

But yeah. I remember a few games being tighter than they should have been because we had Clark playing PG off the bench and he's just not an effective ball handler.

Regular season rondo and Payton will prob split minutes on the average. Playoffs it’s rondo’s show

True. Also, this should allow Dru to keep playing the 2 guard spot assuming rondo is back

Between Payton and Carr, we definitely seem to be adding some length on the perimeter.

His first 7 games w PHO he went 17/7/7 on 51% shooting and 72% from the line an everyone here wanted to know why we didn’t give up a 2nd rd pick

Sign the dude on the cheap and we are breaking down the dude’s deficiencies on the chalk board like we just committed $50 mil

Clark easily.

I'm assuming this was just an easy deal to get done, considering where he grew up, and has absolutely no bearing on how much of an impact he will have.
