I’d think having him and Rondo would be kind of redundant no?

I have not seen much of Payton play, but from what I have his game is very similar to Rondo.

Why do you guys think a reclamation project means no Rondo? One of the worst teams in the league traded peanuts for him to see if he could be salvaged and they gave up on him. I would think signing Payton is independent of Rondo. It might mean no for someone else they were interested in like Tyreke though.

Payton isn't close to the bball IQ savant Rondo is.

Elfrid is really bad. Really, really bad.

Exactly. As if the Pels are going to start Payton. The only debate here is who you prefer: Him or Ian Clark

Yeah this has to be a league minimum. This is a deal to have another ball handler. When Jrue and Rondo were off the court last year we had problems crossing midcourt.

I suggested Payton last week because to me it makes sense

Need another guy that can distribute. He’s great value rondo. Have him learn behind him for a season.

I also hope they aren't replacing Ian with Elfrid. Their shooting is nowhere in the same galaxy.

I think he's the backup PG, sure, but I also think Ian Clark is still in play.

Has zero bearing on Rondo's future with New Orleans

If Moore is now the backup 2, does Clark matter? I like this signing. Underrated.

Calm down everyone, this is probably for the league minimum and solely for depth and more ball-handling. Payton is also a decent defender, so I'm good with it. Not the kind of the signing that makes or breaks your offseason...

I know I'll get downvoted. Same thing happen when I tried to cool the Monroe hype here. But Elfrid was beyond horrible in PHX. He was honestly maybe worse than Greg Monroe and that's saying something.

Possibly, depends on what Dell can cook up to get us a wing player.

It all depends on the figure. League
Minimum would obvis be great. We’ll see shortly the figure we took him at I’m sure.

You know, going back to something that Crewz said earlier...I think this has less to do with Rondo and even Clark and more to do with Frank Jackson...

Jackson could be a guy for cheap guard depth for Portland for a guy like Harkless since they did just let Napier walk

First of all, almost everyone is horrible in Phoenix.

2nd... we are almost certainly talking a 1 year league minimum to be the 4th Guard at best. Pels had problems with 3rd ball handler. They need someone that can get the ball in play 10 minutes a game. That's about all this is one has to imagine.
