LSU tight end Roman Mothershed met with the media Tuesday and discussed his transition from Troy to LSU, including his willingness to take on a new role to help the Tigers.

Mothershed said he was open to doing whatever was needed when Coach Cox approached him about working more with the tight ends.

"I was prepared to do whatever it took to get on the field to be able to make an impact to help the team," Mothershed said. "So when Coach Cox came to me and introduced the idea to me, I was with it. I was ready to step into whatever role was needed for me to be able to get on the field."

Mothershed also talked about the biggest adjustment he's experienced since transferring from Troy, pointing to the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium.

"Death Valley itself is just completely different," Mothershed said. "When we first came out there against Clemson, I had never felt anything like that ever in my life."

Happy for Roman and very pleased that he's been able to make the jump in competition even though its had ups and downs. He is a beast, and busts his arse on special teams as well.

Also awesome to hear how involved Treydez has been and how big a benefit TD7 is even not being able to be on the field. Dude is gonna be a hell of a football player for years to come, can't wait to watch him in the NFL
