I’m honestly not on board with this.

I want a fresh start and if we can acquire the right assets for him, I say start getting the pieces needed to build a deeper, more cohesive team.

If he stays this season then decides to bolt, we get nothing for him, no?

If he signs super max he stays, he can’t leave. That’s why it’s super max, or trade. That’s it.

Maybe it's because I would still be thinking of AD as our best player when I shouldn't, but I wonder how well he fits with Zion. Defensively it'd be great, but on offense AD would probably need to defer to Zion and get pushed out of his comfort zones towards the 3 point line. I also question if AD wants to stay and possibly become 3rd banana with the fans behind Zion and Jrue.

frick no.

That relationship has been torn apart and burned.

Time to start fresh with a whole new group of young talent.

re: Delete
Smart, Brown, Tatum, and picks would fill out the roster with complementary players to Holiday and Williamson. That is also a good bit of talent we won’t be able to add with Brown and Tatum still being young extremely talented players.

Also could players like Moore, Hill, and picks be used to continue to update the roster.

Not no but frick no.

Having the AD trade chip is the type of thing that can transform your rebuild.

You can remake a team around a generational talent almost instantly instead of needing 5 years.

Yea, but yall want to trade AD for freaking Dennis Smith Jr., Kevin Knox and non lottery 1st round picks. That would be similar to Houston bending over OKC. This board names players they havent even seen play. "Maybe we can get them to throw in Frank Ntilikna" Yall have to cut this shite out.

It has to be whether people like it or not. If you have a chance to build around a core of Holiday, AD and Zion you have to at least make a serious effort to make it happen. That’s a championship level core. A small market team like us can’t just walk away from it without making the effort. There was a time when everyone was demanding Tom Benson be forced to sell the Saints bc of his actions after Katrina. Myself one of them. Sometimes people make immature decisions and do stupid shite. We will see what happens but Griffin wouldn’t be doing his job if he didn’t try to keep AD now.

Yeah, nobody wants that.

You trade AD for the #2 or #3 pick AND a few young up-and-comers OR future firsts from a team that sucks. I don't want NYK's 1st next year if Kyrie and KD land on their team. I want them to work deals where we get Orlando's (example) 1st next year unprotected.

Well Memphis isnt trading for AD so the picks are either 3 or 4. Which up and comers are you looking at? They Knicks dont have any other than maybe Mitch Robinson, hes a walking foul though and cant stay on the court. They were the worst team in the NBA for a reason. AD is 26 years old, this package is trade rape. Trying to get AD to sign the extension should be priority #1 if this is the best we can get. All these hell no's and frick no's regarding signing AD to an extension is bull shite.

I thinking reloading with the Boston young guys makes more sense. It also gives you some flexibility to keep updating the roster.

None really. That's I think the realistic deal is #3 with the condition that the Knicks gather up a few unprotected picks from shitty teams. After that, the Pels become a team with cap space, sign Randle to a 2+1 in the 15mil range (he earned it), and try to attract a star to join Jrue and Zion In the next few years while developing young talent.

Also, fire the frick out of Gentry. I don't want him near our team anymore.

Rather have Rozier than Smart going forward. Smart seems to play better at SG than PG where people seem to keep wanting him in this lineup.

Nooooooo Rozier is pure trash with a God complex. Payton is easily better. Plus, he's hitting RFA

Smart 151/100
