#8 - Baseball

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/14/24 at 3:41 pm
My vote for future #8 is Larson, love the way he plays, hustles all the time, is fiery and shows emotion when hitting home runs. Does all the right things, idk what he’s like in practice or how vocal he is. ...
The problem wasn’t the bunt call or the fact that it was down 3rd. The problem was it wasn’t a great bunt and it went 3 feet away from the catcher. If it woulda went further down the line it woulda been safe at 3rd and bang bang at 1st...

Asking for y’alls opinion.

Probably an awful idea asking for some people’s opinion on this board but just was curious. My big problem here is RISP hitting. What percentage (%) would y’all say the awful RISP hitting is on coaching and what percentage would y’all say is on the players not being able to show up in the big mo...
Is this the part where LSU fans tell us what they have done in the past to deflect that they suck this year?
What’s it like to never finish a race in 1st? Because us LSU fans wouldn’t understand maybe you can help out....

2023 vs 2024 Transfer wise

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/12/24 at 10:03 pm
There were 3 big name guys in the portal after last college baseball season Amick, from clemson who’s at Tenn hitting 3 hole and hit a home run vs us. High average and 10 bombs. Montgomery at Texas AM was a 2 way, idk if he pitches for them but currently has 18 home runs. Chase Burns, has ...

I will say, there was a big 3 guys in the portal this year and we got none of them. Montgomery, 18 home runs at Texas AM Chase Burns, Friday night starter at Wake having a good year Amick, just hit a home run vs us has 10 on year and good average. I feel like there’s one more I’m missing...

re: No clutch hitting

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/12/24 at 9:49 pm
We were 1-5 with 4 Ks a weak pop out and a infield “hit” that was really an error with the bases loaded and 4 of the At bats were White, Bingham 2x, Larson with the bases loaded....

re: Why no Holman tonight?

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/12/24 at 9:47 pm
Johnson is an analytics coach and based on how Tenn was pitching this weekend the way he set it up gave us the best chance at winning this series. pitching def wasn’t the issue this game it was probably the one positive. ...

re: Pitching, hitting, fielding

We will do 1 well, and then the other 2 will take a step down at the same time we are doing 1 well. Can never do all well at the same time. Tonight I thought the pitching was good, the defense and hitting not so much....

Ended the game, 1-5 with Bases Loaded with 4 of the 5 at bats being your best hitters. The one “hit” was a 3B error that was gifted to us as a hit....

Dutton/Moffett/Cam Johnson

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/12/24 at 9:29 pm
Moffett had two walks in one inning but honestly pretty good pitching from the “back end bullpen guys” held a good hitting team down. Sadly, the Defense and Offense did them no favors. ...

0-3

With bases loaded, common theme for this team to have some of the worst at bats with RISP. Man, as a fan who watches every game this is just rough. ...

Lol, you realize it’s a nationally recognized thing that Tenn ballpark is small? It’s 320 down the line right. The wind generally blows out. I get it you just started watching baseball within the last 2-3 years. Center field is 390, my high schools center field was 400. ...
I’m being dead arse serious. Dutton was pretty good. He had a double played turned error and his catcher threw a ball to the left field wall when the runner had such a bad jump. jump gave up 1 home run. tenn leads the nation in slugging this lineup is no easy task to go through....
What exactly tonight is causing this post? I mean for Tenn being one of the best offenses in the country we held them down pretty well if you take away the 2 errors. We have 1 run at a boom box stadium....

re: As much as I love LSU baseball

Posted by Traceg03 on 4/12/24 at 8:34 pm
It’s all over the place, we have an outfielder playing 2nd again, and Neal behind home plate for offense and we aren’t even scoring. May as well try to put the best defense out there and try to win games 3-2, 2-1. I get it worked with Dugas but that’s because Dugas was a really good SEC hitter f...

Man I’ll always be riding but geez. Im okay with playing not your best defensive guys If it helps at the plate but you can’t have Pearson at 2nd instead of Right and Neal behind the plate just to score 1 at this boom box of a stadium....
