. Cooper Moore was average at best,

When they started off ridiculous hot off of the Jacksonville tournament most people at that point in the year said cooper Moore was the best starter of the 3. Threw 4 pitches consistently for a strike, was he the best metrics? Probably not but best stats to the point where he got hurt.
The team lost its Saturday starter, 3 hole hitter, (#1 HRs #2 Batting Average) (potentially Friday starter as well going into this weekend) just like other sports with the portal talent is spread out some injuries can completely alter a season.

When your #1 and #2 are out on the mound. You go to extra innings game 1 You don’t have your leading HR hitter + unranked vs ranked this is honestly going better than expected.

Best coach on campus, but this is arguably the worst coaching job of the big 3 sports this year considering expectations . Kelly had a hurt QB, and McMahon lost his best player

What could possibly be Johnson's excuse this year?

I mean, Cooper Moore who was the best pitcher on the entire staff to the point he was injured was lost for the season. That's pretty big but I don't expect a casual to know something like that or just let that go by.

Its possible to blame jay for the decision and stanfield for the execution

You have all fast runners on base / bat. You just watched the pitcher fk up a bunt defense the batter before and he’s on the ropes. Thinking that’s a poor decision is just not a good take.

Miss state has been really bad at home this year but all I hear is “The Dude #1, The Dude #1” most attendance ever

That looked like an over-managed at bat for Stanfield.

Everyone who is blaming that at bat on Jay, just stop. Ask Stanfield if he shoulda got the bunt down.

Serna has a chance to be really good. Is he a draft eligible sophomore or is he a 3 year guy? If he eliminates half the pass balls and gets better with experience at the plate the metrics are there.
30 pitches vs a Friday ace and some of the best RISP batting I’ve seen from this squad. Hell yeah.
Yamin IV to 1B I’ve seen enough through 33 baseball games.

Haha for a former ag this is a solid tweet (about Dardars homerun)

yes, he flipped toward his own dugout but when you flip a bat and it goes above your head it can be deemed dangerous at least he only got warned and not ejected you can get in trouble for unsportsmanlike or dangerous bat flip

I agree with this, this particular bat flip probably went overboard but I’m just talking about in general with college baseball. If you do a little flip towards your own team it shouldn’t be a big deal.
Personally I hate it that they’ve went to bat flip = ejection. You should be able to show emotion for a big moment. Dardar bat flipped towards his own teams dugout. Looked at his teammates in his own dugout and didn’t make any gestures towards the other team. Should always be allowed.

When it starts being towards the other team and gestures towards other team is when it should start being ejections. Rare Umpire W this time around.

Sadly I think this event won’t be as great as normal with the move to single elimination whole way through. I enjoyed the double elimination format a whole week where I can just leave the tv on the same channel all day.

He should have ejected. There’s no defense for that nonsense in baseball, Period.

Awful take. If it’s all towards your team and your dugout and your not doing gestures to the other team it should be allowed. Don’t take fun out of baseball.

Can someone get a gif of Jay Johnson talking to Nick? I wanna try to lip read what he said.
Their really good friends too I’m sure that’ll be a good group chat later

Yorke Pearson Dardar Simpson Carraway Arrambide has show the ability to average less than 2 hits a game between them if 4 are starting on a given night. Coupled with the fact that we are averaging giving up 3-4 runs a night in SEC just from walks and passed balls and it is an absolute recipe for disaster.

What stuck out to me early this year was even for Coach Johnson who I know loves his LH bats in lineup. This was an unusually high amount of LH bats in the lineup at one time and supposed to be the “starters” and they are all very much a heavy pull LH hitters which I thought would be an issue. The other stuff has def shocked me like the catching issues and walks.

Having an Antoine duplantis type approach as a Left handed hitter on this team is not a thing. Curiel is probably the closest but even he can get pull happy.

This may be my fault the 2 games I decided to not watch since the start of SEC play have been the La tech game and the game yesterday and apparently that was their 2 best games.

I agree Adam. The pass balls and walks is the biggest issue. Honestly makes it a tough watch. I wouldn’t mind just losing because they outhit or outplayed.
