re: Rally head
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 10:07 pm
We are 6-13 in the SEC and in 13th place. Perhaps we can at least get to where we would even make the SEC Ty before claiming we've "turned the corner." I'll be at the game Saturday pulling for us to at least win this series....
re: Larson turned the season around

Our schedule "turned the season around."
IMO, if we win this weekend and beat the Ags 2/3, our season will be "turned around."...

re: LSU set to raise Gym ticket prices 23-29%, Baseball 9-39%

Any new arena is NOT going to have less than 13K capacity is my bet. We sell too many season tickets to Gymnastics and WBB to build a smaller arena....
re: LSU set to raise Gym ticket prices 23-29%, Baseball 9-39%

My WBB season tickets went from $200 a seat to $250.00 a seat contribution included. Very reasonable, IMO....
re: So how do we feel about the WBB team going forward?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/25/24 at 8:10 pm
My WBB tickets went up $50 per ticket.
LSU has no choice but to play in the SEC-ACC Challenge just like last year when we hosted VA Tech in December. We will play this season on the road in the ACC. The SEC decides where who we play in that game....

I expect Sa'mayah Smith will play D effectively inside as she was doing before she was injured. She also has an excellent 10" shot. Smith will be a major player in 24-25.
I also expect that Del Rosario will improve greatly and give us 18-22 minutes of good play per game. (ADR will bloom, IMO, ...
re: Protest tomorrow in front of the Union re: the failure to recognize the 1908 championship.
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/25/24 at 5:45 pm
I was told, by oldtimers back in the 1960s (I was a kid and those guys were in their 70's), that our 1908 team had multiple players who were paid somehow for playing or weren't even LSU students at the time. Anyone else heard something like that? The implication was that LSU wasn't going to offici...

re: LSU gymnastics coach Jay Clark, entire staff staying after being pursued by Georgia

The main factor in whether a sport makes a profit or not is the TV contract. The WBB part of the SEC basketball contract is designated MBB. That will change for the next contract extension. When some of that MBB money is designated for WBB, that will help our WBB move toward an even split or at l...
re: Who Misses the SEC Baseball Tourney?

LSU has 4 series remaining: Auburn, A&M, @ Bama, and OMiss. I like our chances at getting enough SEC wins to make Hoover....
re: 2024 Football Schedule

Under the currently adopted system, our only permanent SEC opponent in Texas A&M. That's A&M plus 7 random SEC teams for 2024 and 2025. We wont play Auburn or State in 2025 either, but would play them in 2026 and 2027. In this system, we play every SEC team (not A&M) twice every 4 years.

re: Janae Kent Enters Transfer Portal

LSUWBB has a topnotch nucleus returning to build a top team.
M. Williams, F. Johnson, A. Morrow, A. Del Rosario, LT Poa
Jada Richard (PG, Lafayette Christian) and Jersey Wolfenbarger (Univ of Arkansas) are two strong adds to the team.
Now, we need a couple of strong additions from the Porta...

re: Angelica Velez to enter transfer portal

1. I wish Angelica Velez good fortune going forward.
2. ADR (Del Rosario) made a 50% improvement from November to March. CKM says over and over you cannot coach height. ADR will always be 6'5.5" and her skill set can be coached. She has a soft touch shot inside which can be developed. She i...
re: LSU WBB ranks #7 on ESPN’s Way Too Early Top 25 for 2024-25 season

M. Williams is a great player. I expect she will continue to develop in her sophomore and junior years.
I expect KM will have us contending most years. By contending I mean top 3 in SEC and top 10 in the country....
