No way Griff has the balls.

To be fair, I wouldn’t either

I think you completely misinterpreted my post, even though I explained it and already said what you said in the 2nd half of my original post.

Obviously you don’t do that trade beforehand exactly bc of what you mentioned

However, the source might be operating under the assumption B Miller is a done deal at 2 to Charlotte as well.

It’s just a simple example of Bill possibly having Zion trade Intel, that could still fall through. I’m not claiming to know anything.

Trades almost happen all of the time. But it often takes a specific set of circumstances to happen from multiple parties. Not just the 2 parties directly involved in the trade.

Here is the thing .... you don't dangle Zion unless you intend to trade him. The relationship is already shaky...why let this take traction in the media?

Scoot makes a lot of sense and it buys Griff a contract extension

If there is a greater pro basketball mind on the planet, I'd sure love to hear about him / her / they.

Which means that a bunch of BS about Zion going to Boston is put out there which amounts to nothing.

Meh. He is obviously connected. He and Russillo were calling that AD would be traded while we all were here giving every reason he would stay. And this was long before AD and Klutch started their antics.

I fricking hope so. We need to move his lazy arse and his toxic step-father out of this organization and start moving forward.

I read that as you were talking about Bill Simmons

There's a 3-team trade about to go down:

Fox acquires Simmons, ESPN gets Skip back, and The Ringer gets Perk + a second-round pick.

EDIT: The rare trash-for-trash-for-trash trade.

Bill Simmons doesn’t know anything.

Personally, despite it all, I would not trade Zion now for anything less than earth shattering trade value.

It would be shortsighted to do it now.

He is tied in with some big NBA guys like Morrey, but I have no idea if they would feed him legit "inside" info

Just like AD, the media knows eventually they will be right on Zion forcing his way out of NOLA. Throw in that they have a vested interest in getting him to a big market, and you get these kind of splash reports.

Hell, they did it with Sean Payton until eventually they were right.

Dumping Aaron Nelson would be be surprising if we were trading Zion anyway.

I don’t think we are trading Zion unless there is some crazy offer on the table.

He’s far to valuable to sell for .25 on the dollar, and Griff knows that.

If he were to be traded I expect we will get back Scoot along with multiple 1sts while keeping #14

Yeah Zion's value is the lowest it's ever been and doesn't have much more room to rock bottom. He's not THAT expensive to gamble on next year. I don't see why we would trade him now unless we got full value (which would be #2 and multiple 1sts and it gets trickier if it's for #3 b/c they're not nearly as shitty of a franchise)

Here are the only trades I'd do.

For Zion

Charlotte - Zion
NOLA - No. 2, 2024 first, Williams, some kind of expiring salary to match (Hayward I guess), and at least two pick swaps

For Ingram

Nola - No. 2 and Williams (whatever matching expiring salary, Hayward again I guess)

Charlotte - Ingram

IMO Zion still has much higher trade value league wide than Ingram and all this "prefers Ingram" shite is just smoke.

Zion = potential League MVP

Ingram = nice player, borderline All Star

Most of the league is analytics driven and BI is not an analytics player. To much inefficiency.

One i would do because Phoenix needs to turn Ayton into multiple players:
Suns: Jonas, Rozier, Herb
Blazers: Zion, Naji, #14
Hornets: Simons, #3 (younger and fits good with Melo)
Pels: Ayton, Sharpe, #2, future swaps from Blazers

Would that be enough for Suns to trade Ayton though?

I'd say they need to take Kira as well. I'm not taking back more salary than i'm sending out. Minor change, but if we take back Hayward then we are still going to be pressed up against the tax.
But i agree that's what it would take at a minimum, #2, 24 1st, and Williams.

I'm not trading BI.

That trade seems to be one where everyone gets what they want assuming the Pels want to move Zion and the Hornets like Miller as much as has been speculated. If those 2 things are true I think they’d find the sweetener to add to get Phoenix on board if more was needed.
