It's Bill Simmons so take it with a grain of salt but...

Sounds like Scoot for Zion is on the table.

Bill Simmons had been saying for weeks he had a reliable source and was certain the Suns were hiring Kevin Young as head coach.

We shall see.

Kushner seems to think something big is going to happen also

The way Griff has shaken up the inner infrastructure of the Pelicans leads to me to believe they’re going to do something seismic this week. Obviously things haven’t gone to plan. And time isn’t on their side, because everyone sees the cap-crunch train coming down the tracks.

In regards to FO and coaching staff changes

I don’t trust anything bill says. And the way his source said this seemed shady and bs

Honestly don’t think Griffin has the balls to do it.

I hope he’s right. But tbh a lot of things can happen. His source might be telling him a deal is in place with Portland to move Zion for #3 and Simons.

However, that whole situation gets blown up if Charlotte trades #2 to a different team or says frick it, we are going to draft Scoot for ourselves.

Has Simmons ever been a news breaker?

Sometimes he's right. Last thing he predicted was the Suns HC and he said it on like 3 pods but was very wrong.

It’s hard to Google that kind of thing, but I did find a story from 2010 that gave him credit for being the first to break the Randy Moss trade to the Pats.

Moss was traded literally 2 hours later after Simmons unintentionally broke that story.

Obviously he missed/his sources missed on the Suns coaching hire most recently.

But Simmons actually has a link to Ishbia, so it’s possible Ishbia told him, and then just changed his mind later.

That wouldn't even make sense. Trade zion for 3 and then the hornets take scoot.

Which is why Zion will be on the roster at least to start the day. If wanting a specific player they can't make the trade before knowing if said player is available, so a trade for #3 seems unlikely until the draft. Even then, the target could still be drafted at 3 before any announced trade.

That said I still think the whole thing is a misdirection.

That's interesting.

I Don't get why the pels never went after a guy like Charles Lee or Sam cassell.

Let’s approach this from the standpoint that this far out it’s leaked for posturing even if it is partly real too. Who else is interested in #2 and do they have an offer that beats Zion?

The Celtics with Brown come to mind. I haven’t heard Brooklyn mentioned but I’m sure Charlotte would love Bridges.

I go back and forth on how I feel about trading Zion every hour. I mostly want to roll it back with the generational star but I am exhausted and love Scoot.
