I really liked Tom Petty’s cameo in The Postman, he was essentially playing himself, but most viewers probably didn’t realize it because they didn’t recognize who he was.
Same with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Point Break they had a brief appearance, and unless you knew the band, it probably flew under the radar.

Lance Armstrong in Dodgeball.
I’m a long time bike racer. So I definitely know who he is.
The wife and I were in the theater watching the movie and when he’s at the bar I said out loud, too loudly, “holy shite it’s Lance Armstrong!”
I got sshhed, and did so with embarrassment.
