No. 8 Alabama Rolls Past South Carolina In 49-18 Blowout

No. 8 Alabama stayed unbeaten Saturday night with a dominant 49-18 victory over South Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Crimson Tide took control early behind quarterback Keelon Russell, who torched the Gamecocks' defense with four touchdown passes in the first half.

After South Carolina came up empty on its opening possession, Russell connected with Lotzeir Brooks for a 75-yard touchdown to give Alabama a 7-0 lead. He later found Ryan Coleman-Williams for touchdown passes of 32 and 42 yards before hitting Josh Ford for another score.

Alabama's defense also joined the scoring when Red Morgan intercepted South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown, pushing the lead to 35-3 late in the second quarter. Sellers answered with a 41-yard touchdown pass to Nyck Harbor just before halftime to make it 35-10.

Neither team scored in the third quarter before South Carolina opened the fourth with a touchdown run from Matt Fuller and a successful two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 35-18.

Alabama quickly answered with a Daniel Hill touchdown run and added another score later in the quarter to finish off the 49-18 win.

The victory improved Alabama to 4-0 on the season, while South Carolina dropped to 2-2.
